Congratulations! I have two girls and they are wonderful.

Both names you picked out are lovely, but very different. Isabella is the #1 name right now, which is perfect if you like really common names and you don't mind if she has several other Isabellas in her class.

Annie is more of a classic and less common nowadays, although IMO I'd name her Anne and make Annie be her nickname.

Also, a friend did this, and I thought it was such a great idea. Print out (2 copies) a list of the top 100 or 200 names used last year. Separately, cross out any you would not accept, circle ones you would consider and highlight ones you love. Then compare your two lists. They ended up having only 3 names that they both highlighted!

My children are both grown but I met a woman the other day and her name struck my fancy. It is Pansy.

I also like the name Ruby.

My DD's name is Carol.

I prefer uncommon names because when I was growing up, my name was common. Every time I turned around I was hearing my name.

I had no idea my son's name would be so common.. it seemed to explode the year he was born. We hear people calling "him" everywhere we go.

Also, it was very sad when he was in K and he signed the holiday card to his grandma "Nathan M." I would never had done it if I had known they would be everywhere.

My DD is Rebecca Lynn which I still love. Common enough everyone can spell it, but we don't meet another one everywhere we go.

If we had another girl I really wanted Alexis Rose.

Tessa might work. We could call her Tess for short. Something really funny just popped up in my mind. For some weird reason, when Travis was in HS everyone called him Tess.

I'd stay away from Isabella, Oliva, Sophia, Ava, Abigail, and Emily. I like Annie, expected to call my Anna that, but she likes Anna. I don't like nicknames as formal names, though.

Really? Dd9 had 3 Rebecca's in her class (they're always referred to with their first and last names).
