After reading a lot of the posts about cleanliness, I am curious what you do with your baby in the hotel rooms. My dd is 6 months old (ds is 2 1/2) and I can't imagine holding her all the time. I am thinking about asking for an extra top-sheet to lay on the floor- will the hotel accomodate that? Any other suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

I don't have any advice but, before I knew how nasty the place was:sick: (looked clean at the time) my ds crawled/walked all over the room. Maybe Lysol the place???

Never did a thing special. Just put him down on the floor and let him go. DS, 3, took his first trip at 5 1/2 months and has been about a half-dozen times, and has never gotten sick during/after a trip.

Will you have a pack n play or crib? Why not put the baby down there? I second the Lysol, but I would let the room "air" a bit before you let your dc into the room. Short of renting a steam cleaner I don't know what else you can do to make it cleaner. You could also bring your own blanket from home to lay on the floor. If she's not scooting/crawling yet, then it wouldn't have to be very big. I have to admit I never did anything really special either and my ds didn't get sick, but he was also a bit older @ 13mos so his immune system was also stronger at that point.

The last time we went my one DD was 5 1/2 months. I brought a play mat and a blanket for floor time. Other than that we did nothing special and all worked out wonderfully.

Thanks for the suggestions! DD is rolling, so a regular baby blanket is too small. I may bring a flat sheet. I honestly never thought about the floors before reading some of the posts on this board about the bedding and I wish I never read it!!

Thanks again!

I used to bring the top sheet and layed a chair or two on it's side in such a way as to block off the area between the two beds.

Throw in some toys and viola~ you've got a sanitary play area!

When DS#1 was 12 mo old he took his first steps in a hotel room-- going from one bed to the other!

We are leaving in 3 days and I bought some of those lysol wipes to wipe down the place. I hope that will help.

We brought one of the "Neat Sheets" with us for DD to play on. She did crawl on the floor though...there is nothing you can really do. We were able to wash the neat sheet and we also used it by the pool. I suggest check the floor first (we found a pin on it near the bed), bring your own plug covers and let her play. We also rented a crib and pack and play from A Baby's Best Friend and I am so glad we did the one the hotle supplied was so dirty................
