First I want to thank yall for some great tips on this thread. It has been a long time since i have gone to WDW with little ones. My grandchildren (ages 3 years and 17 months) are now living with us so it is back to diapers, strollers and It's A Small World! BTW, I am a VERY young grandma! :cool1:

I know you cannot bring any beverage into the parks in glass, but what about baby food? Do I need to open it in the morning and put it in a plastic container?

Thanks for all your help...only 20 days to go!!!!

I don't have kids, so I'm not sure, but aren't you supposed to refridgerate the food in the baby food jars once opened?

I do know they have some in the plastic containers now. Just not sure what level they're at (we used some for a baby shower we threw).

I would think you're probably OK with baby food in the little glass jars tho. :confused3 I'm sure someone else will come along with a better answer soon.

Yes, we are bringing a small cooler into the park for a couple of bottles of water and some juice boxes...so refrigeration is not a problem.

They do make some baby foods in plastic but not the stage 3 that i need....grrr. I just went to Walmart to check.

We used to take baby food in glass jars into the parks without a problem. DS is now two, so it's been a while. We have AP's, though, and went frequently, and never was questioned at security.

Yes my sil had no problem with baby food in glass jars, this was Feb 05. She got most of what she needed in the plastic and my neice was eating alot of table foods as well but she wanted a few things for backup and it wasn't a problem.

I know that the gerber graduates have a lot of the meals in plastic containers. These are pretty close to stage 3 and should be fine for most 17 mo. olds though be sure to try them before you go. I think many of the plastic container have the fruit that while it might be stage 2, could be used just fine for an older baby. Most buffets with have options for an older baby too.

thanks so much for all the info....DGD is not a picky eater and is eating mostly table food. She still likes her jar food once in a while though. I would like to have it for a backup. We have tried the Gerber Graduates and have not been able to find anything she likes in them. It all seems too mushy.

I will take the jar food and if I have any problems I will think of something!

Thanks again..... :cheer2:

They actually SELL the glass jars of baby food in the baby care centers, so I can't imagine they wouldn't let you bring them in.

At 17 months, I'd say that baby food is no longer a need anyway. You can find plenty of table food for a child that age.

Maybe not a need, but the OP did state that she wanted something for a back up. I understand her reasoning as my sil brought along a jar or two a day on our last trip. My neice was almost two but tiny and sometimes goes on eating jags. My sil thought that if the food at one of our meals was on the spicy side or something that my neice just didn't like she could just use the baby food. In most cases the jar was much better alternative than a hot dog, sandwich or mac and cheese anyway.

The question was can I bring in babyfood in a glass jar not should I, :earsgirl:

Baby food jars are a specific exception to the no glass container rule; they are definitely allowed in. I suggest slipping them into a sock to prevent the possibility of them hitting together and breaking while you are walking around with the bag.

I know several people who chose to carry glass nursettes formula bottles into the park to avoid the bottle-cleaning routine; those were also allowed with no problem; though I'm not sure they should have been -- people tend to allow a baby to hold a bottle in a rolling stroller, which normally would not be the case with a jar of baby food.

We were there in May and brought jars of food in every day. Security never said a thing and to tell the truth, it didn't even occur to me that it might be a problem. We didn't need it for every meal, but it was a lifesaver the few times that we did!

WEll, I feel alot better.

BTW, my granddaughter eats table food most of the time, but I want to be able to have a jar of food with me in case she decides to get fussy.

Thanks for everyone's input.
