Pre-Trip Part 1

I starting reading TRs and thought... huh... maybe I should write my own.

:) OK lets get started. I have been going to Disney with my family since I was 4 years old. We went once a year and stayed 2-3 weeks at a time. Whats funny is we always went down planning on staying 2 weeks, but we would have so much fun my parents would extend our trip. They had their own business and had the freedom to do that.

me one of my first times

The first time my husband went to Disney we were dating and took a trip with my parents. That is when we got engaged (on the beach of Bay Lake). It was perfect... I couldn't have asked for a better place to start planning our lives together.

right after we got engaged

Of course the next time we were in Disney was our Honeymoon. We opted for the 4/3 land and sea package. GREAT idea when we started to plan it.. but I had never been to Florida in the fall and didn't really understand 'Hurricane Season' OHHH wait, that's why the cruise was so reasonably priced?? Well, we were only in Disney for 2 days before Hurricane Floyd came to visit us. We were still on land at the time and it turned out not to be that bad... I mean yeah the park was closed for a day... and yes there was rain... but the castle was still there in the morning and that's all that matters!!! :cheer2:

us being silly while we should have been paying attention
Once we got on the Disney Magic we were very excited, neither of us had ever been on a cruise ship before. If you are thinking about cruising a highly recommend the Disney Cruise Line!!! It is perfectly magical!! The only down side to our cruise is that Castaway Cay was closed... :sad2: Stinkin' Floyd!! We went to Key West instead... looking back we should have just stayed on the boat.

Since we have been married we have gone together at least once a year... And I have gone a few more times on Girls Only trips with my DSIL DM and a Friend. On one trip me and mom DM even participated in the Danskin Triathlon... this was awesome and totally doable!!! If you are willing to invest a few months in light training you can do it... you won't win... but winning isn't the important thing... tri-ing is!!

We went on another Disney Cruise for our 5 year wedding anniversary... You guessed it... didn't learn the first time and went during hurricane season again. There is no way another hurricane could happen... well actually one hit right before we got there and two more developed while we were on the Ocean. But Castaway Cay was open... so all was good!

I was three months pregnant with baby Dexter.

My baby Dexter's First Trip to DW was in 2005 when he was six weeks old. Not the best idea... but I was on maternity leave and my parents were going... so I thought it would be better then hanging around the house.

He loved Donald (still does) and didn't know what to think about Goofy!

His next trip was last January... it was the BEST trip ever!!! :cloud9:
he was 10 months old and couldn't quite walk yet.. but he LOVED the charters!

This is in Epcot where if you have a Disney Credit Card you can take a special (FREE) picture.

OK... now on to our upcoming trip...

Our DS he will be 2 at the end of March.

This picture is from last year. We had fun dressing him up!! The pictures turned out cute so we bought him a few for this year too.

We thought it was only going to be the three of us when we started to plan our trip.
But then My DB- Michael & DSIL - Stephanie (she's not pregnant any more :) ) Booked a trip along with...
DisneyPhotoImage175.jpg

and their little Princess Emmie. She will be 11 months old.
Picture030.jpg

We are flying out of Midway airport... It kinda silly since we live five minutes away from O'Hare. But Southwest doesn't fly out of O'Hear and we got awesome airfare!! $270 total round trip!! So we will suffer the drive.

Once we get home to Disney we will be staying at the POP. We have stayed there before... no bells and whistles but we are saving for a house. My DREAM is to stay at the Contemporary... but that will have to wait.
We'll be there for ten nights!!

We booked only three Dining Reservations so far... we don't know how the babies are going to be with dinner timing so we only booked breakfast.
Thursday - Crystal Palace
Saturday - the girls are going to The Princess Breakfast in Norway
Tuesday - Chef Mickey's

I am really looking forward to Chef Mickey's and booked our reservations about a month ago... we had a hard time getting into a time slot that worked for us... SO BOOK EARLY!!! :scared1:

:yay: I can't wait to go... maybe this TR will help the last two weeks fly by.

What a great trip report. Thanks for taking the time to post. Can't wait to read more.

OK... so less then two weeks to go now!! :cool1:
I guess it's time to start packing. I already have Dexter's costumes ready... he's going to be Dash, Woody (from toy story), Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, and Dopey. Stephanie bought Princess Emmie a Snow White costume and I serched and searched for a Dopey costume but couldn't find one I liked, so me and my mom made one. I think it turned out GREAT, but you'll have to be the judge of that. I don't plan on having Dexter wear these all day long, just for pictures. Although when I put the Dash costume on him for the fist time, he didn't want to take it off!!!!

Shawn took Dexter to his parents house today... I feel lost with out them, I mean what does a mom do when she doesn't have a baby to take care of??? It really is funny that once you have a baby you realize all the time you really used to have!!!

So it's off to Target for me tonight and stock up on - Sun tan lotion, Diapers, Undies & Socks (I view vacations a great time to invest in new socks and underwear, then I don't have to worry about forgetting to pack them) TMI? & Snacks for the plane, etc.

I'm soooo excited!! I can't wait!!

:thumbsup2 Nothing better than walking around WDW in brand-new socks! We go through a lot of them. If we go back to the room in the middle of the day, my older two will change their socks every time!

Nat,

I loved the way you presented your pre-trippie through the years. What a neat idea and fun to see the changes! What an adorable pic of Dexter in the Stitch costume :cloud9:

I am subscribing and looking forward to reading more! popcorn::

Less then a week to go!!
The DisBoards have been a great help to make the time pass more quickly. :cool1: I have been getting so many good ideas from other people's TRs. I think if anything they have been getting me more Disney obsessed... I actually called up Fort Wilderness to find out what movies they are playing so that we could plan ahead to go to the Camp Fire & Movie. :goodvibes

When Dexter was 6 weeks old (our first trip) He was screaming on the monorail and I noticed that we were sitting next to the CM who sings during the Camp Fire. She felt bad that Baby Dexter was crying and she sang him a song, right there, on the monorail. The whole car hushed to listen in. She had an amazing voice and it stopped Dexter from crying. Until she stopped that is! That will always be a great memory for me.

LESS THEN A WEEK!!! :beach:

Well... I guess plans are meant to change.
No more Expedition Everest, no more Rock & Roll Roller Coaster, no more Space Mountain, along with several other rides that I have been longing to ride. Don't panic they have not been closed... Everyone else can ride just not me.
I just found out I am pregnant!!!!! :cloud9:
I kinda had a feeling the last week that I may be but didn't brake down to take the test until five minutes ago.
I told my husband  I told my almost 2 year old son :confused3 and now I am telling you.

I was thinking about still riding the rides and taking a test when I got home... but then I started to read on the Internet that even when you are in your first trimester it can be dangerous. So I decided that baby is more important then Disney (I think Mickey would even agree).

Anywho... thought I would tell my Dis Friends!

Have fun in Disney! I see that you have been reading my TR. My lil guy has me watching Cars EVERYDAY TOO!!! I think I can quote about every line from that movie. :scared1:

LOve the start to your TR with the old photos! CONGRATS on baby #2. Mine are spaced 2.5 years apart. :)

Congrats on baby #2. Good idea to skip some of the rides. You have an excuse to go back !

Yeah... I already told Shawn that we need to go back before Dexter turns three. So we should be going back this time next year again.
(like i need an excuse!!! :rotfl:)

Thanks everyone for the Congrats :). It's different being pregnant the second time. I have to start remembering all the things I can't eat and do again! :scared1:.

Only a few more days until we leave!!! Is it wrong to be planning our next trip already?

Congrats on the pregnancy!!

Have a great trip!! We took my ds for the first time to WDW when he was 22 months old. He had a great time - perfect age!!

Have fun!

Have A Great Trip!:cheer2: , And Congratulations to you on your Pregnancy :yay:

Thanks Everyone!!!
:woohoo: We are all very excited!!! I don't think Dexter really understands whats going on yet... but I think he has a feeling something is going on.... "why are my mommy and daddy smiling so much?" :goodvibes
Between going to Disney in less then 48 hours and the news of a new baby (not to mention we are moving at the end of the month) we are very happy.

Dexter is a funny little man, when I ask him, "where's the baby?"
He lifts up his shirt points at his belly and says "bab-bie". Close enough :rotfl2:

:grouphug: Thanks for all the congrats everyone!! It's fun that you guys are going to follow along on my TR. (Don't worry blue_river, I'll take lots of notes!!!)

The next time you hear from me I'll be home :sad1:
I guess that's the good thing about TR... I'm kinda looking forward to writing it.
