Baby Carrier vs stroller

We are planning a surprise trip in February for my DS's 9th birthday. We will be bringing our then 10 month daughter along. This will be my first trip to Disney with a baby, so I am a little worried & sacred.

DD is not much of a stroller rider/napper. What is the best baby carrier to use? Should I bring stroller along as well just in case?

Any tips/advice for bringing baby along will be greatly appreciated!!

Ergo or boba is a really nice carrier. Always bring a stroller too. Its good for carrying bags and other items. Also there will be times when you want a break. It will be nice to put baby down in the stroller for a little bit.

We took our son for the first time at ten months and we exclusively wore him. We used our beco (like an ergo) and a ring sling for times we were going to be passing him back and forth to swap to ride. I could nurse very discreetly while walking or sitting somewhere while wearing him. It was so easy because we could just walk onto rides while he was asleep, my husband wore him just as much as me so we each had a break. Of course we were only wearing him in our day to day life, no stroller ever, so that was normal to us. Enjoy your trip!

I know this doesn't really help, but the best carrier really depends upon many different factors. A carrier that works great for one person may not work at all for another. Things like your build, your child's size & height, how you want to wear them all play into what carrier would work the best.

Backpack style carriers such as Ergo, Boba, & Kinderpack are very common and tend to work for most people.

Ds is a great stroller napper so my experience will be different than yours. I took both the Ergo and stroller but the first few times used the Ergo more.

As a PP stated what carrier works best will vary by person so specifically that some areas have stores that will fit you. I am slightly under 5 foot tall with prior lumbar disc surgery. I carried ds in the Ergo at WDW the when he was 15 months old and he's big (really long). It's a great carrier for any back problems.

Last december I borrowed a friends Bjorne so I could front face Jensen do he could look around more (ergo does not front face). I was sooo uncomfortable. If we had a car I would have found an Ergo! But that friend has great success with the Bjorne. So very individual.

The stroller helped to store and carry things even if he was being worn.

I'd bring both. A stroller that reclines flat with a good sunshade will make everyone more comfortable. Bring a carrier as well. It's good in lines and for times when baby needs to be held. If you have a good sunshade and a stroller fan, baby can be more comfortable in the stroller. I wouldn't discount stroller naps. My four year old fell asleep many times on our trip and he never naps anywhere.

I would take both. We took a 9 month old a few months ago and it was a wonderful trip! Have fun!

Definitely both. We baby wear a TON but I would never want to be on a week's vacation anywhere w/o a stroller, too. I would bring a soft structured carrier like an Ergo, Boba or Beco and I would bring a stroller w/ a full recline/full sunshade that is easy to fold and carry.

Another vote for bringing both. Ergos and Becos are pretty easy to learn to use, but I would practice before the trip.

I would bring a carrier like a beco or an ergo as well as having a stroller. We took DD at 8 months and 15 months, and we found both to be very valuable. The carrier was great for taking her on rides, having her in lines, etc. The stroller was also nice, though, so that everyone could take a break from holding her and transporting her to and from the parks.

Re: stroller napping... our DD does stroller nap well, but we didn't really find this out until we got to Disney. We found it helpful to bring a light receiving blanket with some chip clips and clip the blanket around the front of the stroller (leaving the sides open for air circulation). It blocked her view of all the people/fun stuff and allowed her to relax enough to fall asleep.
