Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

How could I have missed to Memom posts....

I love AKL. I took my Mom there in February of 06. We had such an amazing time. I am going to have dinner at Boma with Joe's family in April so I will make sure to take lots of pictures for you. The food there is really yummy.

I love the picture of Brooklynn playing in the water. She looks so excited. I bet you are getting so excited for your trip. I hope you have an amazing time.

Two weeks from tomorrow the Disney mobile pulls out!!! MeMom is coming down this weekend to watch Brooklynn so that John and I can hit the consigment sale and buy her spring/summer wardrobe. We have already committed to sitting down and coming up with some plans for our trip. We do have to plan for all the big things since we have MeMom's friend Kay going with us. Brooklynn is talking up a storm. She loves her Bumbo and Moocal which she must dance to nightly while I fix dinner.

Carrieanne - I do still have the potpie mark when I get out of the shower. Big red and splotchy, but nothing other than that. It was very traumatic though because it happened on Sunday night and swim lessons started Monday. While everyone swam I had to stay inside and watch them through the window. It has scarred me for life and I appreciate MeMom bringing that terrible memory up. Maybe that is why she is taking me to Disney World? To make up for giving me that potpie and then making me go watch everyone swim when I couldn't. Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me.

From Pop, we took the bus to Epcot.

P1130772.jpg

Our main goal was to get on Spaceship Earth, so we just went in and got right in line. The line weaved a lot, but it moved continuously, so the wait wasn't bad.

Inside, we got stopped for several minutes here

.

We were backwards at the time, if you can tell by the picture.

We spent a long time looking at this.

P1130787.jpg

We finally did make it out, and we headed toward World Showcase. Our other goal for the night was to find Kristi a souvenir. Since I had gotten her a lucky cat from Japan on another trip, I decided that I'd get her something from another WS country again.

P1130795.jpg

I thought this display was neat.

P1130798.jpg

Alice was knocking on the window as we passed by.

P1130801.jpg

Mostly we just window shopped. In France, I found a cute tray for Kristi, but the store only had one CM waiting on a ton of people. The line I was standing in was going nowhere, so I put the tray back, and we went in search of something else.

There are many cool things to see in Morocco.

P1130803.jpg

P1130804.jpg

P1130805.jpg

Brooklynn had to touch the water. I never can get a good picture of this fountain. I'll keep trying, though.

P1130807.jpg

After much debate, I decided to go with a pretty piece of tile as Kristi's gift from Morocco, which had no line at all. (I got her something else later, but I can't remember what. I think it was another stuffed animal for her growing collection.) We had done what we came to do, so we were finished for the day.

great update and beautiful pics.

the fountain pic try taking off to the side a little so the flash does not show. It might work.

Sorry to have confused a few of you. I got a couple of PMs, too. We were leaving Pop Century, but we still had some time left. Remember on this trip we were staying at Music. We had just visited Pop to play and take pictures. Pop is our true Disney home, so we don't feel right if we don't at least go visit. We usually get something to eat, shop a little, and walk around for some pictures to put on the Pop Pictures thread over on the Resorts Board.

Anyway, back to the trip. If I am going to finish this, do all the normal school work I have to do, go to a two day workshop, get all of Europe-in-our-hallway ready for next week, and pack to leave straight from school next Friday, I better get moving!

Morning pictures from All Star Music.

On the elevator.

At the fountain.

Around the resort. An early morning lifeguard meeting.

In Maestro Mickey's.

P1130811.jpg

A purse for every taste. As long as you have Disney taste.

P1130812.jpg

One of these trees is not like the others, one of these trees just isn't the same. (That is/was a real song. I promise!)

P1130831.jpg

Did you choose this one?

P1130832.jpg

An even closer look.

P1130833.jpg

We stopped to get a muffin for breakfast. Brooklynn said, "Buppin."

P1130834.jpg

They were very good buppins. I got the blueberry one - it was very moist and just the right sweetness.

We sat on a bench and ate while watching some street entertainment.

P1130840.jpg

Then we headed to Playhouse Disney.

DSC02351.jpg

P1130843.jpg

P1130844.jpg

Brooklynn loved this whole show, of course.

P1130845.jpg

P1130849.jpg

Her friends, "Tigga and Pooh".

P1130850.jpg

Then we went across the way for this.

P1130859.jpg

The CM clearly stated, "No flash photography, please."
The lights went out and FLASH...FLASH.
Then about three CMs came out of the walls with flashlights shining all around that area to find the disobeyer.
It happened once more, with CMs again appearing in a millisecond.
After that, whoever it was gave in, and there were no more flashes.

P1130853.jpg

P1130855.jpg

And at this moment, in real life, not in the trip report, I am getting this weird sense of deja vu. As if I have already told you all this part. I think I remember talking to punkin about it, but I'm hoping it was on one of her reports and not this one. If so, I'm majorly messed up, because I know the pictures are in the right order. I think she was talking about people taking flash pictures, and this happened in Little Mermaid, so I think (hope) I was just sharing the story.

Okay, back to the trip report. You all have permission to think (know) I am crazy.

Pretty little girl things at an open air gift shop in that area.

P1130857.jpg

On our way to Narnia, we saw lots of posters for this.

P1130860.jpg

We hope to enjoy it this summer.

MeMom: I thought you had left for your March trip already I meant, sorry didn't mean to give false info.

That's cool to see Playhouse Disney pics, I don't think I'll ever go there unless I'm travelling with kidlets though.

I cannot wait for Toy Story Mania! I hope it's done by August! :woohoo:

You weren't the only one who was confusulated. (not really a word, by the way) Since this TR has turned out to be several trip reports in one, it's not hard to get mixed up.
I question myself sometime when I'm writing. Like earlier today!
I was writing, and then I said to myself, "Self, I think you've already written this once."
Then I was confusulated and bumfuzzled and everything else. But I think I figured it out. I think I just remember talking to punkin413 about it on one of her reports.

Anyhow, it's no wonder you weren't sure what was going on. And, for the March trip, we'll be leaving on the 14th, as soon as school is out.

Our plans for the first day are semi-set.

March 15th
After a few hours sleep in GA, be on the road by 5 a.m.

Play 'Dead Armadillo'. First to see one on the side of the road is the winner. I always win. There is no prize. You just know you're really in Florida. (In Tennessee, you play 'Dead Possum, Raccoon, or Skunk.')

Stop at the Ocala WalMart, which has become habit for us. Get things we didn't want to have take up space in the car.

Make the last leg to Disney World.

Ooh and aah as we see the first real Disney signs. Click pictures as we drive under the arch.

Check in to All Star Movies, but the room won't be ready.

Head to Animal Kingdom. We hope to get in the safari, Pangani, maybe Lion King, It's Tough to be a Bug or anything else we can.

Bus back to the room to put our bags up.

Go to Magic Kingdom for the evening -get in as much of this side of the park as we can : Haunted Mansion, Spash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates.

Meet up with kaysmommie (who will have a :cake: girl with her) somewhere on Main Street before Spectro.

After Spectro, I told Jill we should try watching Wishes from back in Fantasyland for a change.

If we can get in a few Fantasyland rides, that will be good, but if not, we will have had a full day.

Back to ASMovies to CRASH!

Alice was knocking on the window as we passed by.

this is so cool!!!!! i wouldn't have been able to resist going in and talking to her.

And at this moment, in real life, not in the trip report, I am getting this weird sense of deja vu. As if I have already told you all this part. i did tell a similar story but it was in the country bear jamboree. this lady in front of us kept taking flash pictures and erin and tara kept saying things but she kept flashing away. so nope, you're not crazy!

great update and pics as usual.

hope you get everything done u need to before you go.

Funny - I remember the story about the flash photography as well... Punkin told it... All of the reports I read totally mesh together as well.
How did you like the little mermaid. I have never been b/c Joe is not interested. I think I can convince my Mom and Aunt in June.

When we last left you, we were looking at signs for the Toy Story Mania ride opening this summer. Here's one more.

P1130868.jpg

Then it was into the secret world of Narnia.

P1130866.jpg

We had not seen it before, so it was interesting. A lot of people hate it, but I've only found one thing that I just would have to be coerced into doing again in Disney World.

I'll give you a hint.
It starts with St and sounds like itch.

We thought the sneak preview of the new movie, Prince Caspian, was good.

These are some random pictures from our wanderings throughout MGM, when it was still MGM.

P1130869.jpg

I would love to see Mary Poppins on stage.

We usually take a picture of different famous concrete hands each trip, so I let Jill choose this time. She chose this:

P1130870.jpg

Maybe, since we were on Christmas vacation, she was thinking of 'Christmas Vacation'.
Maybe she just pointed out the first one she saw to get me to snap another picture and be done with it.
One of those two.

Decoration at the Chinese theater.

P1130871.jpg

This is a horrible picture with the glare, but since we'll be eating there on the 17th of this month, I'll go ahead and throw it in anyway.

P1130872.jpg

I don't know who this guy was talking to, but he was in there a looong time!

P1130875.jpg

More randomness.

P1130876.jpg

P1130878.jpg

We take pictures of these guys when we can for our friends Taylor and Eli.

P1130879.jpg

Taylor lost a tooth last night, so he came by my classroom to show me the new hole in his mouth. I gave him a dollar.

A Disney dollar. :thumbsup2

I'm not into soap operas, but there were a lot of people looking at these (apparently new) signs. More glare.

P1130886.jpg

Hey snowbell - there's your picture of MeMom!

Two characters I had not yet seen:

P1130890.jpg

and

P1130891.jpg

We were just a few days away from 2008, so the shops were loaded with 2008 logo stuff.

P1130895.jpg

We didn't think it would be right for us to buy 2008 items when we were officially leaving before 2008, so we didn't. We'll buy some things when we go back NEXT WEEK!!!

Ohhhhh and Ahhhhh over the pics....my girls love your trippie as much as I do!!! They really loved the one of Prince Eric and Ariel kissing :lovestruc

I am so excited about your upcoming trip. Spring is on its way and I bet you are going to get some really nice weather there! I know you can get everything done! :yay: :cheer2: Note to self: Stayin at Movies this time!

great update and pics.

you are so close to going. I am jealous.

I never went into the Narnia. thanks for posting it.

MEMOM -- when I got your PM I was so excited and went straight for your report... WHAT A LITTLE TEEZE YOU ARE ... :cool1: :cool1: I get it. Very Funny - I get to see Memom in the glare from the menu...lol :rotfl2:
Great updates anyway... :thumbsup2 Can I come with you next week?

A third grader was carried from our school in handcuffs today for bringing a knife to his class. We have so many kids with so many needs in our school. By the time you wade through all of the baggage that these kids are already carrying with them this young in life, it is hard to getting any teaching done.

I had a parent upset with me this afternoon because I "got in his face" (talking about her son) yesterday about bringing his planner to school and doing his homework. I had given the student his second planner already, after he lost the first one. He rarely does his homework. Yes, I asked him to bring both his planner and his homework today. I said it to his face, which was about a foot below and three feet back from mine. Does that really count as "in your face"???

When I spoke to his mother about his foul language, she said, "Yeah, he cusses me out at home, too." She wanted him taken out of my classroom immediately. The principal told her she'd be doing him a big favor if she made him do his homework and saw that he stayed in my class. She was pretty okay by the time she left, but it kills me how some parents just take what a kid says and go nutso on teachers who try so hard to make life better for that very kid. He, his brother, and sister all cuss the mother out and fight all the time at home, she told us. She needs Supernanny. They are going to run all over her when they are all teenagers.

So, I came home to Dis. I put the chicken on to cook, and I am coming to a happier place to think about good things. I suspect tonight I will have trouble sleeping thinking of the little boy in handcuffs leaving our building.

Before I continue on with the day, I want to add two from Animal Kingdom the day before.

This is Brooklynn's sign language for 'I'm tired'.

DSC02345.jpg

This is Brooklynn's sign language for 'I'd rather not hold your hand'.

DSC02348.jpg

She walked just like this for several minutes. I'm sure she firmly believed that if she kept her hands that way, she would be invisible, and we would not make her hold our hands. She soon found out she was clearly visible, and she could choose to hold hands or get back in the stroller.

The terrible twos are on their way!

Now, continuing at MGM.

We spent some time shopping.

P1130896.jpg

We wondered why they were making 2008 stuff that said MGM, if they were changing to DHS.

P1130897.jpg

In various shops:

P1130903.jpg

How many stores do you go in where you can fill-a-skull?!?!

P1130907.jpg

We left MGM and went over to POR and POFQ. I'm pretty sure I posted some of these before for Scott, before he left on his trip, so bear with the repeating.

Jill and John have chosen POFQ as their resort of choice for their newly booked October trip.
That's right, while they're soaking up the sun :beach: and fun and enjoying MNSSHP, I'll be chained to a classroom full of hyperactive eight year olds. :teacher: Life just ain't fair!
Naw...really, I am happy for them. John works hard, and he deserves the breaks and the reward of a fun trip with just their own little family. He'll love seeing all the Halloween decorations, and he'll love watching Brooklynn's eyes light up as she soaks it all in. And Jill's. Jill's eyes will be just as excited as Brooklynn's.

Yeah, MeMom will be okay.

Great updates anyway... :thumbsup2 Can I come with you next week?

We still have room for one more. Bring your supersonic earplugs, because my snoring can rattle the windows!

Lurrrv - You are getting like me. Do you ever sleep any more?

twob4him - My school kids said, "Eeeeew!" about the kissing pic.

declansdad - Your lovies come home tomorrow. Do you have the house straightened up, dishes washed, etc? Don't want Ma to come home and see her house looking like a bachelor pad!

punkin413 - She looked like she was trying to escape! She was pounding on the window, not just knocking. Maybe we should have gone and checked on her.

scottny - One trip closing and another on hold. Very good. I will look forward to many more pictures. It's cool that you got a Diser helping with the girls at BBB. And as for getting things done, I forgot to add that report cards are due as soon as we come back from break. Aye, aye, aye!

I have to go get this supper finished. More later.

Thanks for the POFQ pics MeMom. I'll be staying there for the first time in Oct. It looks just beautiful! Too bad Christmas won't be ready by the time I'm there.

Hahahaha I love the bench hugging pic! Brooklynn is so adorable even being independent! :goodvibes I love all of the shopping pics. Do people look at you funny when you are snapping away in the store???? ;) In 10 years those pics will be so cool to look at to see how the merchandise has changed (or not). Sorry to hear you aren't going in Oct (well not yet anyways.....hahaha).
More shocking is your school description today.....oh my! :sad2: It is so sad to hear how so called adults are treating and raising their children. Shocking really. And the whole handcuff thing...pirate: I am speechless. I hope you can forget about it and just pray for them and get some well deserved rest.
