Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

We are also huge PC fans after staying there for the first time in May. Here is the building we were in. It was the seventies, and it was great - with connecting rooms on the second floor.
mickeyphone.jpg

We were in that building, too! We were on the side toward Classic Hall, in front of the playground toward the parking lot. It was a perfect spot. We went to the end of the walkway you photographed from and took pictures from the Hot Wheel end looking toward the big Mickey phone.

I'm trying not to overplan the food, I'm just trying to plan cheap. It's hard for someone who has eaten a peanut butter sandwich nearly every day of the school year (to the tune of about 25 cents) to think about spending $8-$20 a meal. I wanted to try a good variety of things, too, so I'm just sort of seeking out my options. I'm a grazer, not a big meal person, so I'll tend to eat a hundred little things throughout the week instead of a bunch of big meals.

Yep, lots of love here! My family wasn't close and affectionate when I was growing up, and I knew that my own family when I "grew up" was going to be very, very different.

I did! That was such a cute report! This Saturday I also went to the Disney Store. Here's what I posted on another thread . . .

Hey everybody! This Saturday, I went into the Disney Store to look at all the "kiddie" stuff, and noticed that people seemed to be anxious and scampering around. That's when I noticed that there was a sale going on. Mostly everything was marked down, and you got to take 40% off ot the sale price. I immediately got upset that they didnt sell adult stuff like they used to in the late 80's and 90's. Well, I looked at their hats thinking that I could fit one, when an employee informed me that they DID have some adult stuff. I bought a purple Tinker Bell hat for about $3.00, an "Island Girl" Minnie Mouse shirt - $12.00, Pink "Tikki Room" Minnie shirt - $5.00, and Vintage-looking Mickey Mouse shirt - $4.00. I was able to get 2 of them in extra-large, and one in large. If I dont lose enough weight for the large one, then I'll just sleep in it. After all, it was only $4.00.

So if you want some new Disney Tees for your trip, stop in!

Sounds like it could be time for the Gmax Modeling Show on the Disboards! We gotta see you in the hat. Come on, Island Girl, hit the runway!

You know the Tiki Mickey tableware they've had out this summer? That's what we're doing for Brooklynn's first birthday party! That'll be happening when we get back from our trip, and we're hoping to find some things at the Poly to go along with all that. Jill and Brooklynn got some matching clothes, too. Maybe I'll talk them into a fashion show, as well.

Memom -- You are so cute and creative when it comes to your writing. Love the mall pictures... :flower3:

You're kind to say that. I am just a writer, not a talker! If you don't speak to me first, I will never know you. Some people, after they've gotten to know me, will confess that they thought I was a snob when they first met me. That's just laughable, because it couldn't be further from the truth. I just have always had the "speak when spoken to" philosophy. I don't really have much of importance to say, and I figure if someone wants to know what I'm thinking, they'll ask me.

Writing is something I'm more comfortable with. I do get some of my fellow teachers in trouble, though, because during long, boring meetings, I'll write little sillies and pass the note. They start cracking up, and when people look at our table, I have my head diligently in the book while they're spurting Coke out of their noses. It's pretty funny. Even my assistant principal says she can't sit by me at workshops because I'll get her in trouble. But, guess who she always ends up sitting with?!?! If we have to go to these workshops where we've heard the same stuff year after year, we might as well have some fun with it!

We did have fun at the mall. Brooklynn just thinks that camera is an extension of our bodies, because we always have it out. I give Jill all the credit for the mall feature, though. I thought of the picture spots and she did the writing. She had to sit with Brooklynn in front of the Little Mermaid, because she kept crawling away!

Hey MeMom...just got my PhotoPass CD and I had to share a pic!!

Here is my angel...Madison

She had a great time at the BBB!!:)

That's definitely a little angel face! Isn't that what it is all about? Look at that expression. She knows she is beautiful! Please feel free to show us more from your trip.

Did you take any pictures of that famous fridge and its contents?

Aww man! I was set up! I thought I was comming to the thread to see someone else's fashion show! Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but since I'm under contract with Victoria Secret, I can not do a show for you here! :snooty:

Keep in mind the sharing option, since you're going as a group. That was one of the best recommendations we had before our trip. We do tend to be big eaters and we still found we were able to share plates and have plenty of food. Often times we would pick a couple of plates to share between everyone. The servers never had a problem bringing extra plates. It also made meal decisions easier because you didn't have to decide on one thing.

Yes, I know what you mean about the portions. Jill and I do a lot of sharing when we eat out at most places. I kind of like having an appetizer and a dessert, and I'm more than full with that.

News not for this upcoming trip, but for our Christmas trip- We got our December Candlelight Processional reservations yesterday. I don't think I posted that already. We're going to Biergarten, which was my choice. Jill's not so up on it, but she's being nice to her mommy! I want to see the show, just because it's something different to do. I'll let her pick somewhere else she wants to eat, of course, and we'll do that, too, on one of our other days there. We're both looking very forward to the CP, even though we don't know our speaker yet. We're not particular about that, as we're going for the beautiful choral music and the holiday atmosphere.

I've been burning the candle at both ends working on my den floor, doing some things for school (workshops, book sorting, etc.), and getting ready for church camp on the 15th. I've been cooking for our camp since Jill was so little she had to stand on a chair to help me wash dishes. It's one of the highlights of my summer, as it is one of the few services I am able to do for the church. I'm not talented in any area, but I can cook mass quantities of food, so I do that. I especially love it in the mornings as I'm cleaning up after breakfast, because the kids are having their song session. As I clean up breakfast, I hear the beautiful songs of praise by those kids, and they are just singing their hearts out! I just think, of all the bad things that might be going on in the world in that few moments, something really good is taking place in that building, and it almost always brings tears to my eyes. I just hope these kids can take that enthusiasm out into the world and be positive forces in their everyday lives. I'm looking forward to camp, and after it is over on Friday, we'll be ready to leave for Disney World on Monday, so I have a lot to look forward to!

Biergarten has been one of my must eat places since EPCOT opened. Now that it's a buffet, there's something for everyone. And your right, the show is good fun!

Toasting with the Franziskaner Weissbiers at Biergarten!

The blur in the middle is me and the kids, doing the chicken dance during the show:

Still reeling in the disappointment that the Gmax Modeling Show is never to be, we realize we must continue on, as our trip is now 19 days away!!!

Isn't Khokhonutt a nice addition to our ride? I just mention something, and he pops up with a picture you could jump into! It has been a long, long time since I've been to Biergarten, and I'm looking forward to it. I will, however, be one of those many backs of heads in people's pictures who are watching the Chicken Dance be performed, not one of the blurs doing it.

For our Canadian friends, I'm interested in hearing more about Canada Day activities. I know you just celebrated this within the last couple of weeks. Compare and contrast it to what we do on July 4th, if you will. That's the teacher in me coming out. Even though it is summer, I'm always up for learning something new to help me teach my students.

I hope you've all had a wonderful day with family and friends. Be careful with and around the fireworks. I saw a dad on TV this morning who was crying his eyes out, as he had taken his little boy, about 4, to watch a fireworks display, and it had turned tragic. The boy was standing down between his dad's legs watching the display, and somehow one of them got knocked over. It fired off into his head and killed him. This didn't happen this year, and I didn't catch how long ago it was, but he was so pitiful, trying to tell about what happened. He was just bawling, saying there was no way he could have done anything for him, it all happened so fast. As sad as it was, he and his wife were on TV urging other parents to be careful and to stay far, far away, so that another life would not be taken as their little boy's was. It's just another reminder that we should be so thankful for those we love, and treasure every precious day with them. Happy Fourth to you all!

hello MeMom,

Canada Day was this past Sunday, July 1st although the official work holiday was Monday this year. My activities this year consisted on starting the renovations on our bathroom. I managed to tear everything out but the tub and get almost everything back in. :rotfl2:

As for the real festivities, the city we live near throws a huge block party on the green next to the river. They have a few stages setup for all kinds of entertainment, numerous food vendors (somewhat multi-cultural), a few carnival games and rides. Late in the afternoon thay have a parade and they finish the night off with a fireworks display. Not a Disney fireworks display but a decent one for the uninitiated. :rotfl:

Hey! What a great looking Pre-trip! I'll be there overlapping you a bit, hopefully we'll run into eachother. I've got my lgmhpc ready to go! Madison looked so lovely (BBB a few pages back!) I'm gonna catch up on reading all of this tomorrow since my internet is acting up and keeps going out! Sleep tight!

Hope every one of you had a great holiday! We were extremely American and went and watched a baseball game and fireworks!

OMG How cute is Brooklynn!!! Can't wait to see her in real life!! LOL!!!

5boyz - In answer to your PM, yes, we're hoping to stay in the 50s this time. Since we stayed in the 70s last time, we just thought we'd view things from the other side of Classic Hall. Truthfully, though, we don't care. We thought it would add to the fun of the trip being around Lady and the Tramp, because that's what we call Trent and Kristi, and since I'm turning 50, we thought it would be cool to be in the 50s. I don't care where we are, as long as we're there! We got our little cards in the mail the other day giving us tips for our visit, so just seeing those with our names on them makes us know it's almost here. If we don't see you in person, I'm going to leave a message for you at the desk using your Dis name, telling you the location of our room. There will be a birthday hello for your daughter there on the morning of the 31st, whether we're there or not.

Here's what we know we'll be doing the first couple of days:
24th - going to Magic Kingdom, taking the boat over to Wilderness Lodge for dinner, then back to Magic Kingdom
25th - opening Animal Kingdom to ride Expedition Everest, break in the afternoon, closing MGM
26th - opening Magic Kingdom, break in the afternoon, closing Epcot

Does any of that match up with what you're doing? We do have some ADRs later in the week, and we're going into Orlando a little bit, and possibly over to Daytona for a little while one day. Surely, in all the time we're there, we can at least arrange to meet in Everything Pop at some point in time for an introduction and a picture. We can put the picture here in our report, if it is okay with you. We need to get WingedHeart's dates, too.

That 4th of jult outfit is ADORABLE!! Baseball + Fireworks..doesn't get any better than that!

MeMom, can't wait to hear about your adventures at the WL! As you said, reading other TRs helps get excited for your own trip! You better bring lots and lots of pics!!!

Brooklyn is just to cute!!! Love her outfit. It rained all afternoon here so we stayed in and cleaned...what fun!!

Aviva is counting the days till we go...only 24 more days. This is the longest we have gone between trips since 2004. Gonna be rough for me I have 2 herniated discs in my back and pain intervention has not helped so going to aneurosurgeon on the 18th. SO going to rent a scooter because walking is so painful.

Hoping we can meet up...we are there till the 3rd!

declansdad - Thanks for the information on Canada/Renovation Day! When you're finished with your bathroom, you can swing by here (it can't be that far out of your way) and do mine! I just need a new tub, new floor, new sink, and a paint job. That's all.

Avivasmom - I look forward to seeing that smiling little girl of yours in July.

Nicole786 - Jill said she was softly singing Wishes in Brooklynn's ear during the fireworks display last night!

ktturner - The picture of your girls in their dresses is so cute. I love the way they are holding hands. That is precious!
