Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

i spent yesterday combing the sales on disneyshopping.com - finally ended up with t-shirts for all my kids (capt. hook for 5 yr old DS, lightning mcqueen for 9 yr old DS, and troy from high school musical for 10 yr old DD).

i also found that you can buy disney gift cards on the website for use at WDW. so each kid is getting a card with a preset spending limit - we'll see how well they can budget their money! they will really think they are cool, having their own credit card!

oh! AND, i finally got my package yesterday with the awesome YOAMD luggage tags! HOORAY!!

the only plans i have left to make are more detailed touring plans. it's a little tricky to do since my kids are all home from school now and i have to sneak around. they don't know ANYthing and i'm hoping to keep the trip a secret until the airport and maybe even until we hit orlando airport, who knows! i also have to work more on how to reveal the secret to them.

anyway, that's my disney excitement for today :)

Hey everyone! Glenda, UMama, Cherokeemamma, Lan!

And of course the thread mothers! You have only one month to go! :woohoo:

Cmamma, I'm with you on the barefoot thing. I think feet were made for walking barefoot. It just feels so good :cloud9:

I have been swamped at work and now I will be two weeks without internet access..:sad2: So, I'm trying to catch up and I'll try to catch up when I get back. I'm loving the pretrip with all the pictures of the food! :thumbsup2 Can you send me one of those wheelbarrows of ice cream by UPS? It looked scrumptious. MMMMMMM Disney rice krispie treats, I'm drooling on myself.

And I'm with glenda about that suing for emotional scarring because of the poor little bunny. I'm gonna have nightmares. I'm a big softie when it comes to animals. I drug home every stray that crossed my path when I was growing up. Even gophers and a garden snake. :rotfl: It's not that I particularly like snakes, cause I don't, but I felt sorry for it. :rotfl2:

More please...

Wingedheart - The gift cards for the kids will be great. Will you be doing regular Disney Dollars, as well? The Disney Dollars are so cute. We're doing a mix of gift cards, cash, and Disney Dollars.

You are certainly doing better than I ever could at keeping it a secret. I asked my youngest son once if he thought I could keep it a secret if I had a trip planned, and his answer was a very sarcastic, "Yeah, right!"

I'll be looking forward to hearing about the big reveal at your house when it is time!

ET - I really hate to hear about you being without the internet for so long. You'll have lots to catch up on when you return.

I put a wheelbarrow full of ice cream in the mailbox for you tonight. It was really hard getting the stamps to stick to the maraschino cherries! Enjoy!

Wingedheart-It sounds like you got some good deals on the Disney clothes for the kids. My tennis shoe shopping was a success today. I found the perfect pair, and I've been walking around the house in them getting them all ready for the big event!

Come on now, maybe the cat is a mickey fan.

If he doesn't like Mickey, he is most certainly in the WRONG house! In truth, he just likes to be plopped in the middle of anything new!

By the way, keep those good Pop pictures coming on the other threads. I just smile a goofy smile when I see that big huge POP!

ponchos, have you got the cheapy rain ponchos on that big table o' stuff? i keep forgetting to get those!

memom, i love what you said about the seeing the POP - my husband and i have our morning coffee in our refillable mugs with the big POP on them! we need new ones as they are from 2005 and you almost can't see the POP anymore!

now i'm just agonizing over touring plans ugh!

Trying for one a day until our trip. I hope I have enough.

subbing! i haven't read everything yet but will when i get a chance! ;)

One month minus one day till your trip! I'm jealous! I love the pic of the table of necessities. I need to add some of that stuff to my list.

Good morning all! In one month Memom, John, Brooklynn, and I will be standing at Animal Kingdom preparing to walk/sprint our way to Expedition Everest as soon as the rope drops. I think I will spontaneously combust before it gets here though. Each day just brings more excitement. I cannot wait. Brooklynn can't either, my Birnbaum's is the only book she will grab off the couch and not try to rip, she loves the stuffed Tigger she got at the Disney Store last weekend, and she helped me start packing her bag last night. I have made an extensive list for packing purposes. For someone so small she requires so much stuff! And on a side note, themouseforless.com says they have the most extensive packing list - yes they have an electric skillet, cribbage board, and a wine stopper, but they don't have diapers listed anywhere.:lmao: Well I gotta go work, my assistant director is at the beach for the week and my cook has called out so I will be answering phones, taking payments, and cooking for 175 children today.:scared1:

Good to have you on board. I noticed you are from Georgia. I lived there as a kid for a while. I was an Air Force brat, and my dad was stationed at Robins AFB. I was too young to drive, so my life revolved around the base, school, and church, but from what I remember seeing of it, there wasn't a lot exciting going on in that neck o' the woods. I did see peaches, however. Somewhere I have pictures of us picking peaches in an orchard somewhere down there.

Yeah, one month from today, this minute, we'll be at MGM, with Fantasmic on the agenda for later in the evening!

I think I've covered most of our needs, although I still have a few things to get. I don't want anyone to hurt while we're there, and if they do, I want a quick remedy for it. Now that I've got the needs, I'll start thinking about the wants, such as snacks to keep in the room. When I get all that together, I'll do another picture. I enjoyed seeing declansdad's and pooksma's new clothes for themselves and Declan. It is getting closer for everyone!

Hi Jill and MeMom :wave2:

I can't believe you are within a month :woohoo: When we took DD (Eliza) in February, I started putting on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the mornings and I do believe it worked! She would squeal so loud and kick her legs when she saw any of the Fab Five, it was unbelievable!!! We have some of the most wonderful pictures from that trip...they just bring tears to my eyes!

Another tip I wanted to share was that I picked up a few new teethers and small baby toys and brought them along. Then as we were in the parks waiting if she became impatient, I would pull out a new surprise and it really distracted her attention and changed her mood! You can get teethers and rattles for so cheap at different places.

I have so many other ideas that I need to remember and then put into writing. As I think of them, I'll be happy to share!

Jill - We have to fly to Orlando when we go and I got charged $50.00 because of my extra loot for Eliza! The way back was even worse because of all of the souvenirs I bought. They have the CUTEST Minnie Mouse pillows there and I could not resist. Eliza still loves it and cuddles up on it!

Hi Memom and Brooklynsmom...I am counting down the days with you....I leave Buffalo on Sat July 21 and will be there waiting for you and also my sister and family who arrive on July 23rd. She is a newbie and has no idea she thinks it is like going to our Amusement Park here in Toronto, I have tried to explain that Disney is about the size of the City we live in. They just don't get it. :dance3: She just decided to come last Monday so I made all the arrangements for her and they are all set now!!!! I will be looking for you window and Mougli and the gang with the sweet babygirl. I am hoping to stay in the 60's bldg, we stayed 50's last year!!! I requested it so we will see!!!

Anyway memom, I was looking at your great pic that Jill put up of your things to bring, was wondering if there was anyway you could list them. :flower3: ?? I don't know what some of the stuff is as it may be different packaging than here in Canada and I want to make sure that I dont' forget anything important. Fortunately I don't need diapers anymore:rotfl2: .:cheer2: Been There....Done That.....Have the T-Shirt!!!

Talk to you ladies very soon!!!

Caroline

5Boyz - We fly out of Buffalo on July 26th - do you fly back by way of Buffalo too? If so when? We come home the 31st! Enjoy!

funny b/c i'm from tennessee and i see you're there now. i grew up in gallatin, just north of nashville. ever heard of it? i'm now near athens, georgia. i miss the nashville area, but i like it here, too.

Ponchos - check. One left over from my last trip, some I bought at Walmart, and one Jill gave me in today's envelope (another BIG ENVELOPE day!)

The other stuff is: moleskin to keep blisters away, Germ-X, handi-wipes, Body Glide, mister fans with clips, toothpaste, Downy wrinkle spray (good stuff), generic Advil type pills, Tums, mosquito wipes in case we go to Ft. Wilderness or the Poly beach, Oxi clean stain stick, and tons of suntan lotion and lip balm for sun protection. I kinda go overboard on the suntan stuff, but I have a history of skin cancers, one of which was a very serious malignant melanoma. That required a major surgery that took a big hunk out of my right leg and required the removal of a bunch of lymphnodes, and my oncologists and dermatologists have told me I better stay out of the sun at all costs. Since that's impossible at WDW, I compensate by pulling out the old 70 SPF!

If anyone is thinking, "Oh my heavens, she left out deodorant!"..never fear. I do plan to get plenty of that, but I have to take orders. These boys like particular brands and scents, so I'll get new ones of those right before we go. We promise to try to smell as sweet as possible when we are standing in line with all of you!

punkin413 - I'm familiar with Gallatin. How long has it been since you've been there? It has grown up a lot in the past couple of years. It got hit really bad in a tornado last spring. It destroyed much of Vol State and took out the car lots across the street from it. The whole city of Gallatin was a mess. You may have seen the mother that covered her two boys and was paralyzed by falling bricks on one of the Extreme Makeover shows. That was from that tornado.

Hey MeMom and the crew! On your mental check list, make sure you include: I will NOT get to see EVERYTHING I wanted, my plans may change, and I may have to come back another year to complete my check list. OH! And I WILL go back to the room and take a nap when I'm tired, even if my "list" for the day has not been completed!

Don't worry, there's no charge for the above info! :goodvibes

i PMed you, but wanted to mention that my best friend's house was damaged by that tornado. she had a 2x4 through her little boy's bedroom wall! i was up there about 2 weeks after that happened, so i saw a lot of the damage. it was just awful! luckily none of my family had any damage. they all live on the other side of gallatin.

sorry for the off topic stuff, guys! ;)
