They were in the middle aisle in the stand alone cooler where the sandwich meat and hot dogs were. They were in a pack of three and they really taste like the real thing!

So as Memom told you all I became the mother of a baby bunny on Sunday. On Sunday afternoon John looked out the front door and hollered at me. Outside there was one very tiny baby bunny. He was only about 2 inches long and his eyes were still closed. There was fur stuck in our front door mat where it looked like the mom had been up there as well. I called our friend who is a vet and he told me that there was probably nothing I could do and hopefully the mom would come back that night and get him. He said I could give him some baby formula if I wanted to try it. Now with a baby you would think I would have formula, but Brooklynn is a very picky eater. Breast milk only and only from the natural source - no bottle for this girl! So I got out a sample pack we had received through the mail and fixed a little up and fed it to him through a syringe. In the morning, we went and checked on him. He was still there so I fed him again through a syringe. I called the wildlife rehabilitation people and left a message. They called me after I got to work and told me they would not come get him, but they would tell me what I could do to take care of him if I chose to.

I told the lady I wanted to know so she told me to go get some Esbilac.

"What is Esbilac? Where do I get it? I do not save bunnies lives for a living so I don't know these things"

"You can buy Esbilac at PetSmart. Get the regular kind not the kind with goat's milk. Just keep him warm and you'll have to stimulate him to go to the bathroom like his mom would."

Okay folks, I have never been a mommy bunny so I had no idea how to make a baby bunny go to the bathroom and I swear this woman thought I was an idiot when I asked her how to do it. FYI, just in case you need to make a baby bunny go to the bathroom you use a warm moist cotton ball and rub its nether regions.

So I went to PetSmart and picked up the Esbilac and then went and got baby Thumper. I brought him back to school and fed him. He stayed at school and was doing well. He ate again Monday night and Tuesday morning and then it was back to school. Tuesday was picture day at school so I was in the back coordinating all that when my assistant director came and told me Thumper had gone to bunny heaven.

It was very sad. All the kids were asking about where he was so it was a good opportunity to teach them about life and death.

Tuesday night John, Brooklynn, and I buried Thumper in the back yard. In a strawberry poptart box because he was more a strawberry bunny than a brown sugar cinnamon bunny.

Here is a picture of my baby:

So cute! They have the same eyes!

As for what you should write next, I wouldnt bother with the counter service items. Just have an idea of where you want to go, then pick something once you're there. Dont overplan! Leave a little something undone! But of course, WRITE what you will leave undone! :lmao:

True. I'm not really planning what I'm going to eat so much as what my choices are. My CHEAP choices. I've saved all year for this, and even at that, I still have to be pretty frugal when I get there, so I thought it would be a good idea to know where I can get some cheap eats scattered throughout the day. We've got four big meals planned for the whole group - Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi, and Tony's Town Square. Other than that, it'll be counter service all the way. I'm a grazer when it comes to eating. I don't sit down and eat appetizer, entree, and dessert, but I'll be satisfied with a pretzel here and piece of fruit there, and of course there will be a funnel cake somewhere along the way. So, just like Jill said, I do it as much to be doing something related to the trip as I do for any reason! Anybody who has any ideas for the little things to graze on, I'm always up for suggestions. We already have Dole Whips and Schoolbread on the list, and we want to get Tonga Toast one morning. We're all about grapes at my house, so we'll get those when we can.

Oh My Gosh... So I just had a tear in my eye.. You do not even understand how much i love rabbits. They are my favorite animal in the world. I know that might sound a little strange... When I was a little girl my Dad gave me a stuffed bunny named max... I still have him.. He turned 30 on Easter. He sleeps between me and my boyfriend. :lmao:

Also -- hate to keep rambling... when I was six years old. My aunt lived in a condo and the caretaker ran the momma bunny off the property. there were six little bunnies....we wound up finding them all and nursing them until we could take them to the vet where they could be properly treated... funny thing was that one of the bunnies got away and wound up going up a drain pipe... a week after we dropped the other bunnies off... he came back.... and he was ok... (ok enough of that tangent)

so needless to say -- I am quite saddend by your story.

BrooklynnsMommy, I'm gonna sue you for emotional distress! Unfortunantly, I scrolled down and saw the pic of the bunny first, before I read the story! Now, I'm sad . . .

MeMom, Your list of "eats" looks good to me! I've never had school bread before. That's in Norway right? I'd also like to try the Tonga Toast . . . Hmmm . . . there may be some changes to my plans . . . .

Poor Thumper! That is so sad..but at least you did everything you could do, and not just leave him there!!

Loving the TR, i want to be part of your family!! Why cant my family be this awesome?

Memom wants me to add some more pics from her trip with Minnie and from our Disney on Ice adventure. I am working on getting those together, but it probably will be Monday at the earliest. Brooklynn is having her first sleepover this weekend so I will be very busy with two 10 month olds. Wish me luck!

Hi MeMom,

First of all, thank you for the invitation to join the fun. I have read your entire pre-TR and it is fantastic. I love that you and your DD are doing a dual writing thing! :thumbsup2

Your GD is just adorable. :cutie: What a sweet little baby! Like ET said I miss that age for about a minute or two and then...I am over it! :rotfl: I know you all will have a blast with her on this trip. What a special trip this will be.

Now...as far as the barefootness  goes...I am with ya! I am a barefoot girl myself. I guess it must be a southern thang! I know shoes are a necessary evil but I really prefer to be barefoot...au natural. I am married to a NYer and he wears shoes all the time...says he doesn't like grass to touch his feet.:sad2: sad, sad...

BTW, your Disney feast looked YUMMY!:woohoo: I like your style.

:offtopic: Hey there my tiara friends:wave2: ....Glendamax, ET, & Umama

now...back to your regularly scheduled Dis report....

I am looking forward to more....popcorn::

I'll let you know about the schoolbread. Everyone raves about it, so I'm looking forward to trying it. Tonga toast, too. We'll try to send back pictures of us scarfing it..er ah.. eating it very lady like.

Come on in! At our house, there's always a place at the table for everyone. Around here you never know who might be coming in and out and crashing here. I can go to bed at night with no one home, and when I get up there are assorted heads peeking out from under blankets on couches and in sleeping bags, a floor full of tennis shoes and flip flops, and assorted cars and trucks in the driveway. If they were nice and did not block my car in, I will make an early morning run for donuts for them. The popular favorite, though, is chocolate chip pancakes, so I'll throw in a few extra for you! And as for your family, just be happy they're normal! I have often looked at my kids (after having done or said something totally off the wall) and said, "Don't you wish you had a normal mom?"

CherokeeMama- Very glad to have you along. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of your posts. Your kids look like so much fun. They're at good ages, too, to act silly and just enjoy all that Disney has to offer.

And to all who have read about "The Pile", it continues to grow. I did take a picture of a table full of goodies that we'll be taking on our trip. It's a little blurry, though, so I guess you can play 'Guess the Product' with it if it's too bad. It'll be up shortly.

As I have said before Memom is not that tech-savvy so she got my little brother to e-mail pictures of the pile to put up. So here it is, plus her retarded cat who lounges wherever he pleases, whenever he pleases.

The walmart by my office did not have them. I will keep trying until find them ...... my mouth watering just thinking about them... :yay: :yay:

Come on now, maybe the cat is a mickey fan.

Okay, WOW, now I know where to go to get all those little essentials that I forgot when we get to POP! That's some pile there!

Sorry about Thumper, but sounds like you made his last days special!

I'm going crazy waiting here - down to 34 days!!!!!

I know that many of you are waking up this morning thinking, "This is June 23rd. I know there is something very special about June 23rd, but I just can't remember what it is. What is about this day that makes it stick out in my mind?"

Think.

Think harder.

Yes, you are right! It is ONE MONTH before we leave on our trip!!! We pull out on the night of July 23rd, to drive through the night. Sooo, this is a red letter day for us in our countdown.

Now that the 'What's special about this day?' mystery is solved for you all, since again, I am very sure you all woke up unable to think of anything else, we can all continue to enjoy our wonderful weekend. What's on your agenda? I think I'm going to attempt to go tennis shoe shopping, since I need a second pair. My best ones are looking rough. Feeling good, but looking rough. You know how that is. The worse they look, the more comfortable they are.

Everyone have a great Saturday. Jill and John are babysitting a friend's baby for the weekend, so they've got an extra ten month old to keep them busy. They'll get to see what it would be like to have twins! Trent and Kristi have gone to Kristi's mom's lake house to play on all the water toys - boat, wave runners, etc. Drew will play hours and hours of Frisbee golf, eat, and end up at the sand volleyball courts tonight, I'm sure. Anybody out there doing anything interesting...or uninteresting? How are your Disney preparations coming along? Have a great day!
