Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

I've never seen Beaity and the Beast or Fantasmic... but those pictures really make me want to go!

Oh and MeMom... love the shot of the Sorcerer's Hat! Great angle!!

great update and pics.

cute pic wrapped up in a blanket or towel?

I have to tell you , your pictures are the best! Makes me feel like I'm right in Disney. Brooklyn looks like she is loving B&TB. What are your October dates? We are booked at POFQ October 5-12th.

That's about one month before they get out here. You must start in early August? (I think you have said that before.)

Love the little reports. It seems that this trip report has brought many people together. Keep it up and we will need to nominate you for the Nobel Prize. :thumbsup2

I'll pass on the Nobel Prize, because there are probably pictures involved with that, but I am thrilled that this report is bringing people together. I think the people who hang out here are just good, decent, down-to-earth people like us who love going to Disney World with their families.

And then talking about it nearly every day that they're not there. ;)

I am very glad to be able to know you all through this venue, and I hope one day we will have a big Dis meet down there that will just be a blast!

punkin - I'm sorry you had to come back to the real world, but since you had to, I'm glad you made it back safely. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Nicole - I do love Fantasmic, too! I hope to see it twice this summer. I need to do everything twice - once for pictures and once just to watch and enjoy.

I'm marking the 29th and the 30th of November on my calendar - hoping it will work out for you and your mom to get to WDW before we leave so we can meet.

kaysmommie - I know Jill, John, and Brooklynn will be there at the same time, but I don't remember the exact dates. I want to say they're going around the 3rd or 4th. They will be at POFQ, so maybe this time you guys can meet up.

I'm glad you are enjoying the pictures. It is my goal that I can 'bring the trip home' for others, so it's good to hear that I'm doing that.

scottny - Jill bought a blanket which is shown in the picture.
I bought a towel - cheaper and something we'd use more at home.
Kay bought nothing, not believing Florida could get cold. She got cold.

moparop - Pack your bags and let's get down there now! You must see Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic!!! Beauty and the Beast is good - the costumes are beautiful and it's just the right length. Brooklynn stays mesmerized the entire time. Fantasmic, in my opinion, is spectacular. The water screens are amazing. The villains are awesome. The music is fabulous. Best of all, when the boat comes out at the end with all the good guys waving and smiling and the Fantasmic music going, I just get chills. Everybody claps and it all ends giving you such a good feeling. Now, I am a Disney sap, admittedly, but even non-Disney saps (just people who are there for a normal day of a vacation trip, maybe never to return again) clap and laugh and wave, too. It is a must-see!

TCKK - I agree on the filming. I just told Jill yesterday I need to do everything twice. Maybe I should do them three times - once for pictures, once for video, and once just to watch.
Yeah, that's it.
So, I'll be needing thirty days instead of ten.

VandyFan10 - She loves that monorail shirt! How many of those do you see out on the street?

We enjoyed the meet, and we'll hopefully see you and Dawn sometime before we leave.

Glenda - You will note that there is now a full body picture of me, thanks (or no thanks) to my lovely daughter. I do have my fat pants on in that one, of course. Why didn't I wear my skinny pants, knowing Jill was in charge of the camera???? Oh well, at least you've now seen me at my worst.

I'll answer more later. I just noticed some of Jill's pictures weren't showing up, so I'm going to go see if I can fix that. I'm off today - taking time to work on my graduate course. I am taking a break right now. I work for forty-five minutes, then reward myself with some Dis time! :)

We will be at French Quarter as well. We arrive on the 4th and leave on the 11th so surely since we will be at the same resort at the same time we could at least meet up for a beignet and some pool time.

Thanks for fixing the pics on the previous page. I loved seeing more Pop Century pics. The colors there are so brilliant. I think that's why I like pictures from there so much.

I just thought it was funny I noticed it.....and I haven't seen it until I saw hers.....I WANT ONE!!!! :teeth:

The conversation it struck up at the Disney Store was hilarious!

I can't wait for all of us to get together again also :goodvibes

I will be snapping pictures right and left in 53 days!!!!
I love taking pictures at Pop!
And Poly.
And Grand Floridian.
And Port Orleans. Both sections.
And All Star Music.
And every other resort.
And the parks. All of them.

I love taking pictures to bring home and share with others. They start talking to their families about how maybe they ought to take a Disney trip.

Actually, as I think about it, I'm probably just making our lines a lot longer.

Maybe I should put the camera away now.

micandminforever - Field Day ended up being Field Half Day, since the storms moved in after our second station. It was sad to see the guys deflating the inflatables when most of the 650 kids had not gotten to get on them. Maybe they can come again another day, because all the kids were very excited about those, of course. We ended up playing board games and watching movies.

twob4him - Yeah, but high school?!?!?!? Oh heavens, high school teachers have it much harder than we do, I think. I'm not smart enough to teach high school, to start with, and seeing the attitudes in third grade, I'd hate to think what they might be like as teenagers!

Jill and I were able to spend some time trip planning this weekend while they were here. I know you are all very shocked at that, but we really did.

We settled Brooklynn in with her play kitchen and dishes, and we settled Trent and John in with a video game, and we settled Drew in with...wait, Drew had already left for the day. Wow, yet another shocker!

Anyway, after tweaking things so we could get in on the tail end of Star Wars Weekends, here's our ADR agenda, as of now:

June 28th - Crystal Palace
June 29th - Sci Fi lunch
June 30th -
July 1st -
July 2nd - Trail's End
July 3rd - Le Cellier
July 4th -
July 5th - 'Ohana
July 6th -
July 7th -

The open days will be a variety of counter service meals, grazing, and maybe a meal somewhere out in Orlando ***GASP!!!*** if we decide to go out shopping or whatever. We plan to hit Beaches and Cream at some point, and there will be an Earl of Sandwich visit, most likely.

I'd like to do mini-golf sometime, and I know there are several of those around I-Drive. Also, we are tossing around the idea of going to SeaWorld on the 6th, since it is an open day. When you start adding in the price of that, however, when Disney is already paid for, it makes it harder to dish out the money. It's been a long time since we've been there, though, and we know Brooklynn would love it, so we're toying with the idea.

Those have been some great updates. I just got back from my trip to Mexico... Had the most amazing time but came back with such a stomach bug.. OW!!

I have to start getting ready for my trip in June. It is one month from today. Woo hoo!!! Still trying to get Joe to agree to the Thanksgiving trip.

Cannot wait to see more pictures.

I know you will take lots of pictures for me since I will be having Disney Christmas withdrawls this year ;)

I'm SO excited that I'm getting to go back in September, and to have a 'real' and REALLY fun girls trip at that.....I CAN'T WAIT!! :yay:

Your dining plans look yummy! We did Le Cellier on our last trip and loved it! Crystal Palace is another of our favorites. It's become a must do on al our trips now!

Hi,
U do know they changed the menu at Le Cellier. The Maple filet is gone and so is the moose.

the new menu is on all ears

just thought I would share that incase u did not know.

I didn't know you had to kill your own moose there. :rotfl2: :lmao:

that has seen better days.

Hi everyone!

Yes, the reservations are made. We haven't gone to four of the five places we've booked, so we're looking forward to them all. We are going to be staying in Epcot all day on the third, because we're afraid if we leave, we won't get back in. So, we thought if we planned a good sit down meal, that would take some time, and there will be lots of indoor things to do, so we think we can definitely make a day of it. We want to see Illuminations all the way through, but that will depend on how Brooklynn is holding up. John might take her on back to the room and Jill and I will stay to watch, but that'll just be a call we'll have to make then.

Jill was looking forward to the moose. I'm not going to tell her it's gone. I'll let Scott's post break the news to her. I am looking forward to the creme brulee. I hope it holds out for another 50+ days! John has already been looking at the menu to see what pleases his palate.

The bad news is that Kristi is going to Europe, so she won't be able to go with us. The schedule just didn't work out right for her to come. Trent is probably going to be going for a few days, but he and his buddies have a guy trip planned at sometime, so we're not sure about him yet. Drew never knows what he's doing. There may be only four of us going, but we'll still have a good time. Not as good as them all being there, but they are all adults with obligations to other people and activities, so it's understandable. Some years it will work out for some, and some years it will work out for only some of us. At least we do have the Thanksgiving trip already set, and Trent and Kristi will be there for most of that one.

snowbell - It's good to have you back. Please share some pictures with us. I hope you're feeling better. You only have a few weeks left, so you'll be packing up again!

pooksma - Thanks for the kind thoughts. I need all the help I can get, because the days are just getting worse the closer we get to the end of the year. I have two extreme behavior problems who are not taking their medications right now. I have several who are obviously the bosses at their houses, because they try to boss everyone in the room. I have some good ones, but the ones with so many needs just drain me dry, and the obedient kids just get lost in the shuffle too often.

moparop - Crystal Palace is our start-off meal. We thought it would be fun for Brooklynn, we've never done it, and we can just go straight to Magic Kingdom and stay there. We enjoyed starting our first day with Whispering Canyon last year, so we decided to do another big/fun meal at the start of this trip, as well.

scottny - I did know there were some changes. I am sorry for Jill that one of them was the moose. I'll make her something similar at home sometime.

VandyFan10 - You can hold onto the bottom of the plane and go down with us in November to see the castle lights. They were certainly beautiful, and even the best pictures don't give you the same feeling as standing there in person does. It's one of those things everyone just needs to go and see for themselves, especially the lighting up part.

I think I got lucky on LeCellier. I called to move SciFi back a day, so I figured I'd take a chance and ask. We got a mid-afternoon time, which will be good for getting out of the sun for a while. We're all happy about it, but John is most excited.

Before we move on, and before we get too far away from the Pop Century visit, I wanted to add a few more.

Goodbye, Pop. We'll be back again in June.

disneypics539.jpg

I just look at the sign and start 'remembering when'.

I wanted to get a lot of good Pop pictures, but I wanted to be down there watching Brooklynn splash around, too, so I rushed some shots. I want to think of new pictures to take at Pop on the upcoming trip. I think I've taken at least one picture of everything on the property.
