Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Looks like you guys had a fun mini Dismeet! Brooklynn is such a cutie! So cool how 3 generations of ladies love Disney so much. :tink: You must have been hit with Pixie Dust :) :goodvibes

Jill speaking (I typed this up and posted it from my account, but MeMom's computer is so used to being under her login it posted under her name):

John, Brooklynn, and I returned from Lipscomb's graduation ceremony; then it was fiesta time!

Brooklynn tried to wear a sombrero, but it kept falling.

DSC07423.jpg

She enjoyed eating with Mexican Donald.

DSC07428.jpg

Then it was "pinata" time. I use that term very loosely because MeMom had improvised. She had taped 5 ribbons to the bottom of a $.99 gift bag and handed Brooklynn a yard stick.

Hilarity ensued.

DSC07431.jpg

DSC07433.jpg

Instead of breaking the "pinata". MeMom threw Brooklynn's treasures out of the bag and down the stairs. (I tossed them. Tossing is softer than throwing.)

DSC07436.jpg

She ended up with Einstein fruit snacks, a Tigger and Pooh coloring book, a Nemo book, goldfish, and a turtle that grows when he gets wet!

This morning Memom, Brooklynn, and I were meeting VandyFan10 at Opry Mills. Memom, Brooklynn, and I arrived a little early.

We stopped by the Rainforest Cafe where Brooklynn was very concerned about the large hippo out front. We decided to take a group picture which of course Memom volunteered to take.

DSC07399.jpg

I think she was very concerned with that hippo.....it was pretty hilarious :rotfl:

Great pic Memom.....you guys will have to e-mail me that one

She saw a fountain made out of tools in a store window and had to go touch it.

DSC07397.jpg

Brooklynn found water one more time before we parted ways.

DSC07406.jpg

This child DEFINITELY loves water :yay: ....she was hilarious running to it whenever it appeared

We had a great time meeting Erica and hope to meet again one day.

Ditto!! :goodvibes I REALLY enjoyed meeting you guys and we will definitely have to get together again soon!

I LOVE this picture!!! princess:

That looks like an awesome DIS meet! What a fun morning! Love the pic of Brooklynn trying to get onto the carosel... a girl after my own heart!!

The Mexican fiesta looks like great fun! LOVE the pinata!!!

Sounds like you have had a fun day and have fully recovered from the joys of Field Day. Thanks for sharing your DIS meet.

Poking fun at the fiesta celebration? I thought it was pretty authentic.
Only it wasn't a pinata - it was a bag.
And she didn't hit it with a bat - it was a yardstick.
And there was no candy - but there were nice prizes.

And Cinco was Tres.
And none of us are Mexican.

But it's all good.
Brooklynn will be able to tell her kids someday one of those "We were so poor...." stories.
This one will start out something like this.
"My grandmother was so poor, we used a paper bag for a pinata."

I could have bought a pinata for twenty plus dollars, but I didn't want to.
Not in the real world, anyway. In Disney World, I would have spent that and never have thought anything about it. In the real world, the paper bag option for a less than two year old who had no clue what we were doing worked out perfectly fine. She laughed the whole time she was hitting the sack, and we laughed at her laughing.

We were hoping to meet dancin_princess, but their driving schedule changed due to some work that needed to be done on their car. It turns out that they won't coming through here until about 1:30 in the morning, so unfortunately, that's not going to work for us. We could have made it until around midnight, but we didn't want to be out in the middle of the night. Brooklynn has been asleep for quite a while now, of course. For a little bit, I'd tell them to go ahead and call when they come through, and I'd drive to the exit and meet them by myself, but I'm afraid to be out in the middle of the night by myself.

I really hate that we will miss her. We've PMed back and forth planning it, but they just didn't get to leave as planned. Hopefully, another time it will work out.

Everyone send good thoughts my way today.
This is Field Day.

Oh, what fun, you say!
And fun it should be.
Games of skill. Sportsmanship. Laughter. Families spending time together in harmony.

I will dissect it for you from a teacher's view.

There will be over 650 students plus hundreds of assorted parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, significant others, teachers, workers, etc. invading our campus.

The kids who don't behave do an even worse job when their parents are there to protect them.

Have a great Friday!

This is why I teach high school. NO field day!!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the great posting to both of you. (or is it really just you MeMom, not wanting us to know how much time you spend on the DIS???)

As you said before about Declan, I feel like we're watching Brooklynn grow up right before our eyes. Any girl who beelines for the Mickey store is awesome in my book.

Have a great day!

BTW- i saw your note re declansdad. Rest assured I will deal with him later.

Thanks for the great posting to both of you. (or is it really just you MeMom, not wanting us to know how much time you spend on the DIS???)

We finally think we figured out why they are posting under her name. It takes so long to type it up that it times me out of my account and automatically logs back in as Memom. So that is why short ones are under mine and long ones are under memom's.

So cool you got to do a DIS Meet!! And I love tres de mayo at the MeMom residence!! The paper bag idea was muy bien! sorry my 2 years of spanish is out of my brain...

Por Favor Montaganese Allejado de las Puertas.

Ah! That one I remember!

I believe May 22nd is the last day for the kids.

That's about one month before they get out here. You must start in early August? (I think you have said that before.)

Love the little reports. It seems that this trip report has brought many people together. Keep it up and we will need to nominate you for the Nobel Prize. :thumbsup2

so cool that you guys had a dismeet with erica! i promise next time i'm in town we'll all get together - how fun! i plan on coming up there sometime this month. i'll let you all know when. oh, and i love the paper bag pinata and the tres de mayo celebration.....you guys are so fun!

glad u got to have a dismeet. looks like fun.

When we last left you Brooklynn was here

DSC06930.jpg

And Memom was walking around somewhere. Maybe she was here...

or here...

disneypics465.jpg

or maybe one of these many places...

In the last picture you can still see Kay and I sitting on our chairs and Brooklynn playing in the water!

Then it was time to change Brooklynn into a dry diaper and clothes and board the bus to

disneypics541.jpg

We arrived at Hollywood Studios and headed to the Great Movie Ride. We stopped out front to take a handprint picture first. We chose Carol Burnett this time.

Then on to the ride

Then it was time for one of Brooklynn's favorite shows...

Beauty and the Beast.

The whole show I listened to Brooklynn say "Air go?" with her little hand upturned every time some one went off stage. And if you haven't noticed how many times people go off stage sit with my daughter and you will!

After the show Memom went to find Brooklynn a toy of her favorite character from the show.

disneypics569.jpg

I know what you are all thinking little girl=princess. WRONG

Brooklynn =

DSC06950.jpg

Strange I know, but she loves her Beast. She has the playset that Memom bought her and a doll from Disney Store from her great grandparents and John and I bought her a stuffed one that she can sleep with.

Then we headed down toward

disneypics573.jpg

This is one of Kay's favorite rides. Last time she rode it with Mom, she was warned to hold her backpack - she forgot. They laugh about it every time they talk about it. I waited with Brooklynn who fell asleep.

DSC06972.jpg

Then we headed to eat.

disneypics576.jpg

It was getting quite windy and we were in shorts and t-shirts. I knew it would be cold on the water while watching Fantasmic so I went and bought a blanket. MeMom bought a towel to cover herself (as I have reminded MeMom she bought a towel she can't remember where her towel is! She is now very upset and is accusing Kay of stealing her towel) and Kay ended up freezing.

Brooklynn was still sleeping as we stood in a herd for

disneypics578.jpg

Brooklynn woke up when I took her from her stroller. We got awesome seats and bundled up for the show.

disneypics584.jpg

This is one of our favorite night time events, so we sat and enjoyed.

(MeMom just found her towel so all is well.)

We headed out with the crowd

disneypics616.jpg

The following picture was taken by MeMom as she knelt in the middle of the road. Kay did not hear her say she was taking a picture so she thought she had fallen and couldn't get up. It was quite humorous.

disneypics620.jpg

We did a little shopping.

disneypics623.jpg

Kay has no idea she wore this giant St. Patrick's Day hat and had her picture made in it.

disneypics624.jpg

Then it was back to the hotel for some much needed sleep.

tell brooklynn i love the beast, too!!! belle is my favorite princess, but i'm much more of a beast/peter pan/tink/maleficent kinda girl! just wait until you guys see the pics i got from the beauty and the beast show! they're REALLY close. you'll have to show brooklynn when i get that installment up!

Another great update you guys! I love the Beauty and the Beast Show too. So do my girls. We've got some pretty good pictures from there from our last trip and can't wait to see it again. In fact, my daughter's high school just did Beauty and the Beast. We went and saw it and had a really good time.

I love the pictures of Fantasmic. I got to see that for the first time our last trip. However, I spent most of the time videotaping the show. This time I hope to just go and watch it. I feel like I really missed the whole effect of it by taping it. Of course, it's fun to be able to watch the video now ;)

Thanks again for another update. Looking forward to more.
