Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Whew! We've been wondering when you were going to post again. I can't beleive it took this along. I mean; you being a teacher, you should have lots of time to post. :rotfl2:

No worries MeMom- I will smack him when he gets home!

No worries MeMom- I will smack him when he gets home!

Thank you very much. It will teach him not to be so FUNNY!!!!

One more week of TCAP next week, and then we're done. We can finally have some fun with school. I usually close out with a special unit. In the past, we've done units on Japan, Australia, Florida, Tennessee, Ocean Animals, Animal Habitats, etc. We've gone the extra mile - not just book stuff, but crafts and foods and games, etc. They love it. We'll also have a field day and a trip to the Chattanooga Aquarium.

declansdad - See above post. You will reap the consequences of your humor!

twob4him - That's going to be my Friday night highlight - watching a new Disney show! I will watch it more than once, as well. I'll watch it once for general purposes, and then I'll start watching it in order to look in the background and see the little stuff. Enjoy the show!

This weather is crazy today. We've already had two tornado drills. They keep putting out warnings, so we head to the halls. My kids are at P.E. right now, so if they have another one, I'm just going to hide out in here alone! If I see the wicked witch riding her bicycle outside my window, I'll take cover!

Hopefully you don't end up in Kansas, not that there is anything wrong with Kansas (so I've read.)

Sorry it has taken so long to get started back. It has been a long, long, long week.

When we last left (the three or four of you who are still reading along), we were trying to get a good shot of this guy.

We never did.

At first glance, you might have thought it was a newly discovered planet, right? I mean, we do need something to take the place of Pluto.

(Side Note - All my years of teaching My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas has been destroyed. Now, we say My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos.)

He remained, at least by any record we have of him, in a drunken spin.

I will try again on June 28th, as we will be seeing Spectro on our first night.

We had decided to watch Wishes from Fantasyland, just for something different.

Here are a few castle shots to enjoy as we walk that way.

Okay, we're here!

disneypics211.jpg

We decided to give the Carrousel another try. Brooklynn had not cared so much for this the last time.

This time, she liked it a little more.

Yes, that is a hidden MeMom behind her. This was accidental. I wasn't trying to hide. Truthfully, I don't think I knew Jill was taking pictures.

disneypics214.jpg

We found some chairs to sit in to watch fireworks, but Brooklynn only had her eye on Bumbo. Jill told her we'd ride Bumbo after fireworks, but Brooklynn, being of toddler mind, kept saying Bumbo, Bumbo, Bumbo. So, I, being of grandmotherly mind, said I'd take her on that while Wishes was going on.

It has been said that watching Wishes from Fantasyland is not for the faint of heart.

That is a true statement.

And for anyone who wanted to see us on the ride, here it is.

We're in there. We really are. You'll just have to wait for a picture of Jill and Brooklynn riding together. It will be better than anything that was taken of me - I promise.

That's it for right now. More later tonight or tomorrow.

great update and pics.

the castle pics look really nice.

Brooklynn looks adorable on the carousel.

I love pics of the castle at night!

Brooklynn is so cute on the Carousel.

So nice of you to take her on Dumbo during Wishes!

It's nice to see you in a pic again!

I saw Wishes from behind the castle...never again! What a strain on your neck to keep turning around! LOL

why? was it loud or just crazy fireworks going in all directions? do you recommend it if we've already seen it from main street? we're thinking of watching it from fantasyland one night.

It is a completely different experience from there, and yes, you should try it once just to say you did. The sound is so loud, and you think the fireworks are going to fall right on top of you. Give it a try. It's the proper Dis thing to do!

pooksma - I love being a MeMom to that little girl. I can't wait to see her again shortly. They're coming up here today. I hope to put pictures up tonight of our day. We're celebrating Animal Kingdom's tenth birthday!

Nicole786 - Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I think everyone ought to do it once just to see for themselves. Are you getting anxious for your move back to the south?

SwansLoveDisney - I had already planned to ride Dumbo with her by myself, so this was a good opportunity. She was so cute looking down as we went around and around. We're meeting at Thanksgiving, right? Then you'll see the whole me. I hope I'm not so scary that it ruins your trip! :scared:

scottny - I hope you are enjoying your day with your mom. I like the castle shot in the middle - the one that's looking staright up the side.

How did everyone like the Travel Channel Disney show last night? I watched the first part, but toward the end I started piddling around the house. I'm not good at sitting for a whole hour. I was taping it, so I can watch the rest soon. I was half listening while I was fighting the cat to give him a bath. It was a struggle, but he smells sweet and looks shiny today, so it was worth it.

Countdown is now at 77 days!!!

I completely forgot about the Disney show on the Travel Channel. I am sad!

We should definitely try to meet at Thanksgiving. Of course I won't be scared of you! I'll be so excited!

sounds like it would be fun to lay down on your back and just watch the sky above you and all around. do you think anyone would say anything if ray and i just laid down on the pavement near dumbo??? :rolleyes1

I loved watching that disney channel show...twice! (yes i was up at 1am lol) cant wait for the rest of them!

BrooklynnsMommy here

Happy Birthday A-Camo! (That would be Brooklynn-ese for Animal Kingdom!) We celebrated by taking a trip to Pizzafari and doing a short safari.

First, Brooklynn put on her brand new binoculars. (They totally banged against her knees through the entire journey.)

Then it was out the door to our "fari".

It was time to eat.

MeMom's addendum - Note that a real wild animal has now joined in.

DSC07152.jpg

:cake: Happy Birthday A Camo!!!!!:cake:

MeMom's other addendums -
1)We did take the tags off of the animals eventually.
2)The zebra was found to be lame. He cannot stand on his own. The zookeeper who went out early yesterday to capture the animals did not know he was lame. She just grabbed the 88 cent animals out of the box on the shelf and moved on to the food area. Next time, the zookeeper will know to have each animal pass the standing test. Brooklynn didn't care, however. She enjoyed her 'fari', and we enjoyed watching her.
3)We are aware of the fact that we need to weed-eat the yard. Drew borrowed a riding lawnmower to cut this time, and he has not gone back to do the trimming.
4)Brooklynn did allow her mommy to put a bow in her hair later in the day, but she was too excited about the safari to let her do it right then.
5)Does it look to you like Tigger and Eeyore are very interested in what's being served for lunch?!?!

We also went to the Disney Store in the evening. No visit would be complete if we didn't end up at the Disney Store. We resisted buying anything, though.

How fun!! You have some of the neatest ideas to celebrate and keep the Disney Magic alive. :thumbsup2

Count me as fan of your trip report. I have enjoyed your many adventures at WDW and look forward to reading about future trips.

I taught middle school for 29 years and the youngest group I taught were in the 6th grade. I admire anyone that can teach students in the 3rd grade, with all the testing that comes with that grade. Kids are wonderful, paperwork is not.

Oh my goodness...that is the cutest :lovestruc thing I ever did see.....look how big Brook is getting! And what a loverly spread at Pizzafari! Yummy!

that looked like fun. an animal Easter. :rotfl2:

the food looked better than Pizzafari. :thumbsup2
