Hi everyone. A quick message as I am a mess. My brother that lives near me with his golden retriever, suffered a massive heart attack and died yesterday. We are all in disbelief. He was not "just my brother" we were together almost every day often walking all the dogs in the woods together.

Sadly, no, this is not going to have a quick, easy solution. I even thought about not taking my trip, but ultimately staying home doesn't help anyone, and the change of scenery with my best friends will do me good.

I don't mind questions at all. His golden, Max, is beside me right now. That would make 4 dogs in the house. I think he will end up staying with me. I have another brother that would love to have him and give him a great life, if he didn't live with a woman that very much dislikes animals. She doesn't get the point of pets. Like it's something that you have to take care of and spend $ on, and get nothing in return.

His 2 cats are at his house. One of them stays inside and the other keeps getting out via the dog door. He is a very smart Maine Coon cat. Since we can walk to his house, my family is over there all the time. A dear family friend is also over there often.

It really is much appreciated especially since there are a couple close family members right now that have been.....well lets just say....disgust me with their actions or lack there of. On a positive note, there have been kind generous people as well. I have a few people I can vent to about the 'disgusting actions' and their support means the world to me. They can not believe how I have to deal with/listen to this crap. I am thankful for them. I am exhausted.

Every family has its jerks, and it is just so sad that even a death can't seem to turn them around for even a moment. Big hugs SD..... and you can vent to us anytime, even if it's just in general terms.
