Babies to Baby Boomers- 9 WDW days filled w/ blunders, boo-boos & bliss. update 08-24

Great update! :thumbsup2 Still loving all the pictures.

Cayden and my DH have something in common. ((The gas in small spaces thing)) :rolleyes1 He's constantly blaming the baby though!

Aw, I am so glad Maya's experience with Ariel was so great! I hope we are that lucky!! :cloud9 Cayden made an adorable Sebastian :). Were you happy with the loot the kiddos got at MNSSHP? I hear it is suppose to be really good. What a great time she had dancing the night away!! So cute :goodvibes:

Looking forward to the next updates popcorn::

Ha!! Maya's getting into it now. Only you don't have to worry who did it. She always yells "I pooted!" afterwords. Makes for fun dinners out or target trips!

Thanks. For the compliments! I loved their costumes this year.
I thought that we were lucky with the characters. Some were a little less friendly/ more rushed. Some were a bit less focused. But the ones that were most important to the kiddos were really fun and friendly and patient.
I need to pop over and catch up on your PTR. Haven't been on too much the last couple weeks.

thanks! And welcome!

welcome. I see you've got a trip coming up. How old will your youngest be?

We headed down in August with a 7 year old and 2 year old. Yikes! Last time we went ODD was 4 - it was a great age! Not sure how it will go with our 2 year old - she's pretty crazy!! :yay:

i can't wait to hear about it- 2 year olds sure can be interesting... when my dd was two, i remember going back and forth between oh, its so neat how she is learning this and that and someone get me away from this kid!

In honor of Charlefours lovely questions on her PTR- i thought i'd ask one myself.

What is your favorite time of year to visit WDW and why? you can be very specific- even down to the week if you want to be. and what is your favorite discount associated with that time of year?

And what is your least favorite time of year to visit? and why?

for me, i don't have enough expierience to answer this really, but I will say that I loved late October when we went last year. Warm, very little rain, and great crowd levels. :wizard:

Not to long ago we were at a REALLY nice swanky restaurant for my BFF's birthday. My DH took DD to use the restroom. When she came out she said as loud as she could. " I went POOPIE, I went POOPIE" !!

Everyone just stopped what they were doing at stared at my little girl. It was hilarious and embarassing at the same time.

You gotta love kids and the funny things that come out of their mouths.

We have been in March and October.. that's it. LOL October has been hotter than March with about the same crowds. I like both times. We have gotten the 4/3 deal last year, free dining in October, (which we loved!), and I used an AP room only discount for this past trip

I wouldn't go in the summer, unless I had to. I wouldn't go on holidays either. But I guess anytime is a good time to goto WDW!!!!! :goodvibes

That is funny!!!! :lmao:

My DD calls passing gas a 'Poop Gas Singer' and is not shy to tell people when she does it!! :rotfl2:

When the last update ended, we were arriving home late from our Halloween party night.

I think the kids ended up getting to bed about 1am, and the adults about 2am. And the baby got up twice during the night (uggh) So it’s a good thing that Friday's wake-up plan was to get up a bit later for our day at Animal Kingdom.

I think that we ended up getting up about 8am. We didn't get out the door until 10am. It was driving me nuts all week that it was taking us so long to get out of the house. At home it only takes about an hour to get us out the door. But there are just so many people here to distract you from staying on task. Plus, I wasn't getting much ready at night between getting home exhausted and people sleeping in the common area. I hope to remedy this next time.

Here are my sweeties at the bus stop.

As soon as we stepped off the bus, I realized I picked the wrong day to wear a black tank. It was hot!!!! In my defense, not a one of us had been there before, so I'll chalk it up to a learning expirence

We made it through the gates pretty quickly and were headed to the safari. Chris ran to fastpass Everest, and the rest of us took our time slowly walking towards the back of the park, stopping to take in the animals and the scenery. Next thing I know, dad is nowhere to be found. I turn back and see him- buying ice cream for the kids. At 1030 a.m.

We get back to the safari's and Chris was waiting on us. The standby line said 30 minutes. We decided that we would wait on it. Luckily it only took about 17. I think it was our longest wait all week? Baby James fell asleep while waiting for the ride.

I requested to sit near the front of the jeep. I had the baby in my arms, and had heard that it was much less bumpy in the front. It wasn't too bumpy. James managed to sleep through most of it.

Judging only from other's trip reports, I'd guess we saw an average amount of animals. Probably could have seen more if we were earlier/ cooler but we still had plenty of action.
Here is some of what we saw on our journey.

My favorite was this guy. He was pretty close here...

but then we drove up the road a bit, looked at some other animals. then just when you had totally forgotten about him, we rounded the corner and...

When we got off our safari, we decided to go through the Pangani trail. It was there that we saw the rarest of beasts- the Disnean BeautyFail.

My sister spotted it first. She set off with her camera, all the while pretending not to notice it while she snapped "pictures of Maya and Cayden"

(No offense meant to anyone if you own this outfit. I just kind of felt like if you were that hot, put on some shorts!)

After this, we took a potty break and headed towards Kali. We grabbed fast passes and went to Yak & Yeti for our 1pm ADR.

continued....

anyone else?????????????????

i'm actually very curious to hear your answers...:rolleyes1

Funny that both our babies slept through the Safari Ride. That's one BUMPY ride, and insane that anyone could sleept through it.

I agree- not sure how anyone could sleep through that. I'm not complaining though. We really didn't get too many real naps. So those catnaps really helped maintain his sanity!

Love the new siggy pic of Jayden!!!
