Ok I need your help on this one, my youngest will be just 1 yr when we go in Sept. so we will need a crib. My question is how clean are the cribs at the resorts? We will be staying in a cabin at FW. Am I being crazy in wanting to bring her own portable crib?

We stayed at the Beach Club our last trip, they gave us a metal baby crib to use. It was clean, but instead of crib sheets it had a fullsize sheet folded up and around the mattress, not safe in my mind. At the Courtyard near Downtown Disney we had an identical crib and the same set up with mattress. I have heard others with this same story. The Disney crib did have a Mickey themed bumper pad on it though. I don't know if the cribs are still this way as this was last fall. We also so pack-n-plays at the Beach Club. I would say if it makes you feel better and you have the room for it, take your own. If you don't take it, maybe pack one of your own sheets to use once you get there, just make sure to take it out during the day incase the maid service would accidentally take it with the other sheets.

We had a Pack N Play at ASMo last time, and I'm hoping that's what we get this time. It was very clean, but also had that full size sheet. I brought my own Pack N Play sheet, and I'll do the same this time.

I've heard that All Stars has some full size cribs, too. I'm going to call ahead and request a Pack N Play.

I have seen several reports on how much bacteria is found on rental cribs, etc. I'm definitely taking my own so I don't have to worry about my ds putting his mouth on or lying in a crib that has possibly been vomitted on, urinated on and who knows what else. (Although the regular beds probably have the same germs!) It will give you more peace of mind to take your own.

We were at FW last October, and were given a Pack and Play for our then almost 2 year old. He exceeded the weight limit on it by 2 pounds, so we couldn't use it! We were told that no cribs were available.

The Pack and Play itself was an older, shakier model. It was not sturdy by any means. It was dirty, and had a regular bed sheet, no fitted sheet.

I definitely say bring your own. We are planning to bring one for our next trip, Oct '02; our next child will be about 7 months old at that point!

Thanks, I think I will take mine, I weighed and measured it today so I can def. do it as luggage. Can you tell me what is the best way to pack it, should I put it in another duffle bag?-we will be flying.
disney0928 we're neighbors- I'm in Manchester:)

I think that it should be OK in it's own carrying case, but I haven't yet done it myself!

Yes, it's a small world after all, Manchester neighbor!
