Hi,

I am planning a trip to Florida on 9th November 2015 for two weeks and was browsing both Virgin's and BA's sites for Flydrives as an alternative to booking flights and rentals separately as we already have accommodation and was really surprised at the difference in cost.

Historically my wife and I have nearly always used Virgin but on this occasion it would have to be BA. Why? Because for two adults and a full size car with inclusive insurance BA prior to their sale (only £15 cheaper by the way) are charging £1225 for the both of us with direct flights to MCO from LGW and Virgin were charging £1781!

Even with their sale prices which were announced today the cost is still £1673. A difference of £463. I cannot understand why they are so uncompetitive!!

Virgin's pricing strategy is a mystery to everyone. That said, we flew long haul - not to Florida - earlier this year and VA were cheaper than BA; same again for another trip next year :confused3 Their check in and onboard service leaves a lot to be desired but I'll take whatever is cheaper.

VA seems to rake it in for the LGW-MCO route. For our next Orlando trip, they wanted £2900 for two seats in economy :lmao::lmao: We booked elsewhere :thumbsup2

BA must be having a massive sale as their prices are coming out way cheap for me too....
and that's really strange (as i come from israel)...
BA is even cheaper than turkish air and aeroflot -
which are always the bargain basement airlines for flying to the states from here (if you don't mind flying via istanbul or moscow   )

anyway, BA definitely is coming out massively cheaper for me too.
several hundred cheaper per person! (and flying via london isn't half bad ;) )

The prices for me with their sale was only £15, but still massively cheaper than Virgin. Virgin are actually charging more for the Car Hire portion of the Flydrive than Alamo's website!!!

us too, we always fly with virgin, but this time BA came out a few hundred cheaper, so BA it is.
cal:)

Virgin Holidays is always really expensive for flydrives.

Flight only on the 2 airlines are nearly always the same or within a few pounds.
