I have stayed at both of these recently. B was just prior to Christmas and Best Western was right after New Years. I stayed at the B with my 8 year old DD, and at BW with my 4 kids (15, 8, 8, and 6). Honestly, we liked BW much better. I adore the styling and clean lines of the B, but was disappointed in the room size and location. I really thought I had booked one of the tower rooms, but was on the sides. I studied their room descriptions clearly, and I am still not sure I was given the right room. First night, I had lukewarm water in the shower and didn't even make my daughter take a shower. Second night was better. She adored the bunkbed and my bed was comfortable. All staff interactions were fine. We caught the bus to Epcot one day, waiting quite awhile for it, but I hadn't figured out the timing. Coming back from the parks, I asked one bus if it went to the B because he didn't have the sign out. Yes, B he said. Well, he meant side B which is NOT the B. We had to walk all the way back when I realized we were on the wrong side. My mistake for not double checking, but I wished I had been more persistent when I didn't understand him.
For our stay at BW, the room was bigger. My older DD loved having a bed to herself (the fold out couch). My kids have a fascination with "staying way up high" in their rooms, and we requested an upper level room. While our balcony looked out over the parking lot (yeah!), they didn't care. Staff was very polite and this bus worked better, but I had more experience with it. On our way back from AK one night, we waited quite a bit for a bus (this was after ROL), but the bus we got was a charter bus with comfy seats and tvs. My kids LOVED the FANCY bus. "Why don't we take buses like that all the time?"
As someone else mentioned, there are a plethora of restaurants just across the street. McDonald's, which is literally HALF the price of the McDonald's on the way to AK, UNO's, Sweet Tomatoes, Noodles & Company, a mexican or two, etc.
Check the resort fees too. BW is ~$13 while the B is around $30-35, I can't remember. I think parking is different too. (We had parking included with out rate.) Also, be aware that BW is undergoing construction, so it's not much to look at outside the building. I never heard any noise or had to avoid back hoes.
While I felt fancy and special staying at the B, BW worked better for us. It also helps that it is typically cheaper than the B. We have booked BW again, but I will have to see a great deal before I go back to the B (and I will make sure we are staying in one of the tower rooms.). Let me know if I can answer any other questions. I haven't stayed at any other DS hotels, but keep watching prices. (We are local and go often so affordability is more important that amenities, unless it's a birthday trip.)
