B Day Celebration at Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

Looking to to this in August for boy turning 9. Any suggestions??? Good idea?

We did MBYBBQ for my son's 5th birthday in December 2007. After reading not-so-good reviews from the discussion boards I was very nervous. This night was one of my son's very favorite things and I was so glad that I had booked it for my son's birthday. We had balloons delivered and even a cake. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and festive! Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Chip and Dale were there and the children danced. Mickey Mouse danced with my son for a few minutes. There was an entertainer who did roping tricks. Pretty cool! The kids get to sit up front to view this! It was lots of fun. Didn't care for the line dancing lessons. We left when that started. Line dancing was just not our cup of tea, but the BBQ itself was lots of fun. We plan to do it again this December when we return to Disney. Hope this helps!

We thought it was just downright chaotic. We won't go back. But then obviously opinions vary. What is chaotic to some is fun to others.

We did Mickey's BBQ last year, and while the food wasn't my favorite, we had a lot of fun. In fact my 5 year old still talks about dancing with the Goofy! I do remember that when we were there they invited a couple of kids who were having birthdays to participate in part of the rope show.
