Never dropped my keys, but I've locked them in the car. Worked the grocery store, night manager came in at 11 and the evening manager and I left at 11:15. I walk out to my car and find the keys hanging in the ignition. This was 80's, no key fobs, no electric locks. It was a plunger in the top of the door at the window ledge.
No issue, the windows are down an inch. I can just get a coat hanger from the bathrooms and get it opened easy. Problem, I have to go rap on the door and the manager in the back has to let me in (has to let the 12:00 folks in also so he has to walk up anyways.) He always takes forever. He finally gets up there and lets me and a couple others in. I tell him I'll be right back, just grabbing a coat hanger.
Get my coat hanger and race back up front and he's gone. I have to go get him to let me out again. This all takes about an hour by now.
Finally I'm heading through the lot back to my car. Get to my car, again an hour now after I was done. I fish the coat hanger in through the cracked window and the rear door catches my eye. The rear door was unlocked.
