Jimmy the ego Claussen. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He was picked 48th (2nd rd) bounced around a couple of years and never did much. Career record 1-13. TD 7 INT 14. 54% comp 61.9 rating 4.3 ypa.

But this guy has none of the character concerns (that turned out to be right) that caused Claussen to drop.

I think it was a similar situation with Brady Quinn, too.

Can't believe ABC felt it is worth HOURS of TV coverage.
Sort of like the interest that started here about 15 years ago in covering High School Athletes signing letters of intent. Half flunk out.

ABC probably learned how to follow athletes for hours from NBC as they followed Vanessa Atler around with the camera in her face for hours during the 2000 Olympic Trials. NBC is horrible about following around the favorites and making money off of them when the athlete doesn't reach the top.

And there was something weird stuff going on with all the women around him (including his mother) dressed like they were ready to go clubbing. His girlfriend was there, and there was some confusion as to whether or not he had multiple girlfriends with him at the same time. Apparently it was two of his sisters with him along with his girlfriend (who isn't in this photo).

I had a great overhand serve in HS PE. It wasn’t taught to me, but I did it with a closed fist. Wasn’t very accurate, but no worse than anyone else’s underhand serve. I think it hit a few people in the face. I did learn a proper overhand float serve as an adult, and that gave me a huge advantage at company picnics.

But it still got to the point of being awkward and they let him leave the main room and get away from the cameras. That's the only draft I've ever really watched (and learned they're super boring and I don't need to do that again).

I married a massive sports fan. The draft has been on at our house the last little bit. I know what the quarterback, the center, and the kicker do but that's about it. That said, I really enjoyed the commentary on our local radio station the morning after the first round regarding the Lion's pick of the runningback from Alabama because, as their analyst put it, he wasn't even good and you don't pick runningbacks in the first round because the league is now more of an arena style of play in which it is a passing game so runningbacks aren't worth choosing before around the third round.

I have no idea what any of that means but I'm proud of mysel for remembering the argument.

Mahomes is humble. Brady for his reign was overwhelmingly humble. Peyton Manning, humble. You can’t be cocky coming out of the SEC when you throw that many picks.
