I'm going HOME
Less than 1 year after my awesome Graduation trip with my best friend, I'm heading back to the place where magic lives. Though I haven't had the time to write my full trip report I'll give you an idea of what happened at my August 2003 trip.
Initially, my parents, my best friend and I were booked to stay at Coronado Springs on a Fairytale Package for 8 nights, from August 19th to the 27th. But on August 20th we got a phone call from the Coronado Front desk informing us of a MASSIVE convention coming into the hotel. When I say massive I mean 85% of the rooms!! So they offered us a free upgrade to a Deluxe Hotel. Now believe me we were happy but we wanted Coronado
So, the first hotel they offered was Animal Kingdom Lodge, to which we said no. I know I know, its just not our thing. So we debated over which Deluxe had what we wanted and decided on the Yacht and Beach Club. On August 21st (my Dad's birthday) we checked out of Coronado *sniff sniff*
and went on our way to Breakfast at Cracker Barrel as it was pouring down rain and we didn't want to head to a park.
At around noon we called the Yacht Club to ask if our room was ready and they told us it would be within half an hour. So we arrived at the Yacht Club at 1pm, after calling and being told our room should be ready when we arrive.
Unfortunately, when we got to the hotel they explained the room that they had assigned us was not yet ready. So we asked for another and they said that was not possible. Uh huh, sure. There had to be another waterview room available somewhere in the hotel. To top this all off the CMs that were dealing with us were blunt, abrupt and rude, not exactly adding to our Disney experience.
Finally, at around 2, an hour and a half after they claimed our room would be ready we were given a room. On the 4th floor, AWESOME view of Epcot!! TO make things even better my Dad called the Manager on Duty and got us Concierge service.
Let's sum this up, for just under $2000 US, the price of our Coronado Fairytale Package, for 2 adults and 2 juniors, we were staying for 6 nights, at the Yacht Club.....in CONCIERGE!!
Despite the fact that our view was amazing and we loved the ability to walk to Epcot, those were the only features of Yacht Club we enjoyed. We found Stormalong Bay to be too large, and far too crowded. It was an interesting experience but I still think Coronado has the best pool in WDW.
That is exactly why my parents and I have booked our trip for May 22nd to June 1st at Coronado, 10 wonderful nights
Even better is the fact that we used a code for Canadian Residents, the Dream Maker Package at Par Code, if anyone would like more info on it feel free to PM or e-mail me at tinkerbelle_325@cogeco.ca. Anyways, it saved us 30% on a Dream Maker package!! Im soooo excited to be going home, but this time, im not expecting or wanting any upgrades, just my CSR fix
