We just got back last night from our first family trip to WDW! It was the best!!!!

Husband (28), Me (28), DS (almost 5), DS (almost 2)

Seven night Fairytale package at ASM's Mighty Ducks

Here is what we did:

Day 1 Arrived just before dinner and missed our reservations For fantasmic (Mears bus took FOREVER!!!) Strait to Epcot Fish & Chips in England and Illuminations. Soooo excited to be here finally!!!!

Day 2 Magic Kingdom, tons of character autograhps, Dinner in Germany! Fireworks and Spectromagic in MK

Day 3 MGM , dinner at Le Cellier in Canada - best food EVER! Illuminaitons

Day 4 Character breakfast at Epcot's Akrershus (in Norway) Princess Jasmine planted a kiss on my 4 year old - got it on film. Rode Mission Space and got very queazy! Ciesta in Mexico, then onto MGM, kids LOVED play house disney. At the stars and cars parade snow white blew a kiss to my baby, he blew her a kiss and she caught it!!!! Total Disney Magic, onto Mamma Melrose and Fantasmic - all AWESOME!!

Day 5 Early entry at Magic Kingdom. Got in tons of rides. Everyone loved Buzz Lightyear and Winnie the Pooh! Dinner in Epcot's Mexico. Excellent again!

Day 6 Early entry at Animal Kingdom. Kids were terrified by A Bugs Life - it was very traumatic for them but my husband and I loved it! Killamanjaro Safari was lots of fun. Tons of Characters turned up at Rafikis area and we could not get the kids away from the interactive trash can! The African shop by Kilimianjaro is awesome and very affordable. Bought tons of stuff here. Nap time. Back to Epcot for Champagne in France and dinner in Morocco. Kids LOVED the belly dancer.

Day 7 Shopping at Downtown disney. I expected better honestly, hated the section by Cirque du Sole - soooo tacky. Had a great lunch at Wolfgang Pucks which was excellent. Went to a LUAU at the Polynesian resort. Was awessome, kids loved it and I loved the Polynesian. This is where I want to stay next time! So beautiful and loved the monorail access.

Day 8 Early entry at MK, almost got to be the park openers - seconds late! Hung out till 10:30 (acually took santa hats in for a christmas picture in front of Cinderellas castle!!). Checked out, and thats all folks!

This was the best time our family has ever had, it really was magical! Already planning a trip next year! Thank you to everyone for your great ideas!

Amy -

Great trip report, thanks! I LOVE the idea of the Santa Hats in front of the castle! We did it a year ago at Fenway Park when they had a father's day special and let everyone go out onto the field, we pulled out Santa Hats and took a picture, lol.

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing!!!!

Enjoyed your succinct trip report--so refreshing to read a report with very little negatives! Glad your family experienced some magic!

Thanks for sharing your trip. It sounds like you had a magical time. It brought back a lot of great memories for me just reading your report. My sister and I will be going back again next year too. Only with more people , ages ranging from 14 yrs. to 84 yrs. :) We are really looking forward to it. It will be the first time for our 14 year old niece to visit WDW. What we missed this year we will hopefully see next year plus the things we enjoyed again.

Awsome report! I love hearing about first timers experiences. I'm glad your going back! Thanks for sharing.

What a great trip report. Sounded like you had so much funny. Seems like you were very organized and made the most of your magical time. Just curious? Did they allow you to do the Fantasmic Dinner over? Because on the phone they told us if we did not show up they would charge our credit card. We were there on time at Hollywood and Vine for sure.! We love the Poly too. One year we stayed there 3 times with Ap. That will never happen again because my ds had some business meetings there one year. Save your pennies. Its the best and worth waiting for.

We were charged $10 per person for missing Fantasmic. So we just re-scheduled it. I did do alot of reseach and planning. Most of my reseach was done here at the wonderful DIS. I made an Excel spread sheet with four columns containing the date, the early entry park, a tentative itinerary and finally tips like where to sit for illuminations, where good snacks etc. Some things got re-arranged as I am still a bit of a novice but, it was very helpful. Next year I am going to be a trip planning machine!!!
Best Regards,
Amy
P.S. We are already saving those pennies for the next trip! We opened a special account when saving for the trip we just went on. There is money left over and we are adding $50 a week! So the Polynesian should be very attainable!
