I'm so excited, I just got the GF for the night before my wedding for only $249! My brother who is in the millitary got quoted a rate of $203 per night, (which I think is a steal), but opted to go with a moderate which he got for like $79.80. For anyone who is in the military, WDW is offering a 40% for rooms.
Value- $46.90
Moderate-$79.80

I am so jelouse of these rates! I think he should take advantage of the discount and stay at a Deluxe, but being a firt timer at WDW he doesn't know what he is missing, and the $79.80 and $46.20 are looking pretty good to him!

I am also jealous of those rates as I am paying much more to go to a Value REsort than he is paying for a moderate. HOwever, I'm not mad because I'm glad that as military personelle he has a perk that my family does not, as we are all currently safe and sound at home without the wondering if a loved one will be sent over seas. Please thank your brother for his service to our country. We are grateful.

Oh I'm not jealous at all. I could never do what they do and would be consumed with worry if my DH or other family member where in the military, expecially in Iraq. I think they deserve it and I will pay a little more, gladly.
That said, talk him into the deluxes. You could show him pics and explain how close he will be to the parks. How much travel time he will save himself. Doesn't he deserve a restful time? Let us know if that argument worked!

I think it is AWESOME that Disney is offering such wonderful discounts to those that are in the military. Am I slightly jealous, yes. Am I as deserving as they are, NO WAY! They really deserve a great discount. I hope they are able to take time and enjoy themselves a bit.

Leopardspot, they checked DH's military ID when we checked in at the All Stars on a military deal last summer. I'm assuming they'll check ID again this sumer!

Your GF rate, was that tax included?? When are you going??? I just upgraded last week to GF with the code from mousesavers and am paying $294.50/night (includes tax). And I thought that was a great rate! I'd LOVE to get the cost down a little more. We are going at the end of August.

I also agree that it's great that WDW gives military discounts, our military personnel are underappreciated by so many.
