We rented a boat at the BLT/CR marina on Thursday 3/1/12. It was the second time doing so. It was actually a pontoon boat. It had a large canopy, stereo sour system, and seating for 12. The cost was $45 for a half hour but there was a DVC discount (I believe 10%). We took a relaxing cruise with me at the wheel over the water bridge (google it, its one of the few in the world) between CR and WL. We found ourselves in the 7 seas lagoon. We cruised over to the MK where the ferries drop guests off. We followed the coastline around the MK towards the GF. We saw much wildlife and found a walking path complete with benches and lighting that just dead ended somewhere between MK and GF. I am not sure of its purpose. We saw a little canal where all the water floats where docked that are used in the night time water light parade around the resorts. We then cruised all around the GF. We checked out Narcoosees from the water and had great views of the wedding pavilion. We got a closeup sneak peak at the construction site at the GF DVC from the water without any construction zone fences (it looks small). we then cruised over to PR and had a nice view of the beach there and truly had a chance to appreciate how beautiful the Poly is. We took a close up view of the Ticket and transportation center, then headed back to our resort. On the way back we took a swing around WL another pretty hotel. The views of the water allowed us views not normally available to guests. Many of you may have down time vacation days where you want an experience besides the parks. I highly recommend renting a boat. Our hole trip was done in a half hour, we easily could have stayed out longer but the meter was running. You do not have to be staying in a resort to rent from the marina. Give it a try. You'll like it!
