Last year I wait for two months (think) for 100 points for SS Dec use year. I am not in too much of a rush and I think it is a use year issue. The guide said he had points for other use years but not Dec.

I waited 6 months for BLT points and when they finally came available the price had increased so to $225 a point so we didn’t even bother at that point. When we started the waitlist it was $188 a point.

I called 7/6 to request SSR direct for an Aug UY. I was put on a waitlist and told I probably would not receive 2018 pts. due to possible unavailability before Aug 1st. Hadn’t heard anything for the week so on Saturday 7/13 I called my guide to ask if OKW might be available? She was excited to tell me she was about to call me because my points were available and I would also receive 2018 pts. because we were able to get everything done before Aug. 1. Paperwork arrived Tuesday we all signed and sent it back yesterday. MS banked my 2018 and were ready to go! I would say it wouldn’t hurt to give them a call to see what’s up.

I've been on a VGF waitlist with an Oct UY since 6/27. Not currently a member and my guide also told me he currently had anything Feb through June. I like to vacation in Oct/Dec and Mar/Apr so that doesn't fit my style.

You're definitely right about UY! I understand that Disney will only sell you a contract with current UY points, but I want to get them before another increase like @princessfionasmom mentioned. I am really hoping it is sooner than later now that Disney can change the UY of points before selling them. Theoretically any Aug, Sept, Oct, or Dec contracts obtained with 2018 points can be converted for us.

So as luck would have it....after a really crazy day at work I got the call!!!! Points are already in my account and I banked the 2018 points this morning. Now I just need to set aside the funds for the next 50 I want to add on next year.

We were considering adding on points to BLT but have a question. If you buy direct through disney do you get 2018 points also? thanks!

You will get full points for your current use year. Meaning, since it is July right now, If you are a August UY, you will get 2018 points. If you are a June UY, your first set of points will be 2019.

Thanks. He did mention that when I initially asked for October. He said he currently had no VGF with 2018 points. Any contracts that came back and had 2018 points would be fair game and could be changed/sold to me.

When we first spoke on 6/27 he said the UY change was fairly recent and it made it easier to fulfill requests. I actually spoke with him again yesterday to follow-up and still nothing. I am just past 3 weeks now and it feels like it is taking forever
