Going to US/IOA for our first trip May 14-17th with extended family to celebrate our niece's college graduation.

Just saw that the middle school "Gradventure" is on the 15th. I don't know much about this , but I was a middle school teacher, and my gut tells me we should avoid Universal that day! Am I correct? The park will close early, and I'm guessing that in the afternoon it begins to fill up with middle school students?

I can suggest to the family that we go to a WDW that day. They will be in Orlando the entire week, so I know my niece will get her HP fix!

Suggestions? TIA!

We went to Universal on a Grad Bash day 2 years ago, which is a similar thing for high school seniors. We didn't notice anything out of the ordinary during the day. The event itself is AFTER park closing, and is a separate ticket, so the kids & chaperones cannot get into the parks during regular hours unless they buy another ticket. I assume all that's true for Gradventure as well

Thanks for the scoop!

There's another thread here talking about how Fridays in May are crazy with middle school trips in general because that's a popular field trip day for local schools.

Thank you! I will look it up and share the info with my SIL and niece. I made FP+ selections for that Friday to be on the safe side if we decide to go to MK instead.
