Avios flights

We are wanting to go away next Sept/Oct for 3 weeks, and have enough avios points to get flights and possibly a car and then go with Disney direct to get the free dining etc for a disney resort hotel.

I am looking at the deals for the disney resorts at the moments and I'm not sure if we should book now as you can only book the flights through avios 12 months in advance.

Has any-one else done anything similar and if so did you manage to get the flights for the dates you wanted or can they be restrictive eg only have limited flights dates available?

Hi we've just booked old key west 1 bed villa for sep 2013 as such a good deal. The deposit is only £50pp so not too bad and as long as the dates are available they are happy to move the holiday dates a bit. We usually fly with virgin and can only book 12 months in advance but we think it's worth the risk to save around £1000 on the Disney bit. Go for it!

I would advise that you book your flights first if you want to use your Avios points. The problem is that they only have a certain amount of seats allocated to Avios on each flight.

I was looking for flights on their website a while ago for our trip this November but there were no flights available for our dates.
