Average Wait Times- Recent Trip Reports?

We just got back from WDW and while we had a great time, the lack of FP was rough. Most of the wait times were more than what was listed which made things extra hard. Wait times that said 20 mins were often 45 and so on there. I followed along pretty close when Disneyland first opened but what are things like now? Any recent reports on the wait times and accuracy? Do the parks feel more manageable now for dining with more locations open?

We're planning on coming August but I'm seriously debating pushing it back to the holidays in the hope things will normalize or FP will return. 🤔

I can’t imagine the holidays will be better than now, if you can handle the heat. Things changed some on July 1 but check out my trip report from end of June. Last line of my signature.

Agree with TikiTikifan....lack of FP was rough...just got back from a 9 day trip to WDW on 7/1....Splash 85 mins....7DMT 85 mins ...Thunder 65....PPan 60....@ HS, Runaway Railroad was 55 mins at rope drop....@ AK Kilamanjaro was 60 mins at rope drop.....@ Epcot Soarin was 60 mins at rope drop....and they got longer as the day went on....I would wait for FP....

Also, lots of restaurants closed (including my fave FFish) as well as attractions....

I'll check it out- thanks!

Heat isn't a concern- I love hot weather haha. If I can handle Florida in the summer I can handle anything. I think it's so hard to trip plan right now because we really have no idea when they're going to start bringing things back.

yeah we live in Alaska so I always have to factor in heat. We are delicate above 70 degrees. Lol. I prefer Disney October through February.

We went from June 24th-28th. Wait times were manageable the entire time (Guardians 15-35, Space 20-45, Incredicoaster 10-20, Millenium 25-35, Star Tours 5-10, Buzz 5-10, Radiator 60, Indy 20-35 etc.) By and large, I'd say that the actual waits tended to be 20-50% shorter than the listed wait times.

That said, I imagine things will change over the next few weeks as Disneyland gets more aggressive about increasing capacity. Even today looks a little busier than last weekend.

A friend went with her family (so a family of 4) on July 1st and she said most rides were only a 10-15 minute wait. The longest line was Peter Pan at 30 minutes. They were not successful getting BGs for ROTR (DLR) or WS (DCA) and the standby line for WS was 6 hours. She said "heck no!"

We were at DCA today and found waits quite manageable. Most were slightly less or about the same as posted. Nothing was over.
ETA: we’re talking 30min for Soarin, 20 for GRR, walk on for Ariel, 10 for GSS (but it had just reopened), 20 for TSMM, 10 for IC.

I certainly didn’t see a standby for Webslingers and haven’t heard they are doing this other than a couple reports of people getting on at end of day.

Glad to hear wait times aren't too bad still! WDW also has way less rides in each park so that will naturally just make times longer.

I have a feeling August will be higher capacity too but it sounds like rope drop still seems to work out! I've been reading the reports that the security on Harbor has calmed down, right?

I know this off topic for my initial question but are the pretzel stands all open yet or is there still just one?

I don’t think WS has a standby line? Did I miss something? Can anyone else who’s been lately comment on that?

Don't know about July, but last week of June there was no standby line during the day.
However, if you really want to get on WS.. you can try to line up close to park closing.
15 minutes before park closing, I noticed there was no line at all for WS.. so I asked CM if I can get on and they said yes.
I just walked on to the ride.

Just returned from 5 days in the parks yesterday. Waits were pretty much as posted (none really longer than posted). A few were shorter consistently than posted (BTMRR, POTC, HM, Indy). Big rides like RSR were almost exactly what was posted (usually 60+ all day).

There was no SB line for WS any of the 4 days we rode it. Every day when we were in the line, people asked CMs how to get on the ride and were promptly told that they could only get on with a BG. No SB. This also happened at ROTR. Guests were very disappointed but had not done the research.

Even though having no FP seems to make the SB line flow pretty well, we rode far fewer rides per day than we normally do with Max Pass/FP. We only rode big rides like RSR once in the entire 4 days as a family (and rode once in Single Rider) because the wait was just about an hour or more all day long. We tried it at park opening, but it was down. We rode TSMM and IC, and by the time we went over to RSR, it was an hour after opening, ride still down and the line was at least 60 minutes long by my visual. So even trying it at park open doesn’t always work. Then your only choice is that long line, in the sun, when the real feel was around 100!! And not a lot of shade until you get into the little buildings. The line often extended into the area where the FP machines used to be (they have removed them), next to Flo’s.

I am just back, and trying to remember about where I saw pretzels. I know for sure they had them at Pacific Wharf beer stand in DCA, as well as Sonoma Terrace in DCA (we mobile ordered a pretzel from both). There is also the giant pretzel from Pym’s test kitchen. I can’t speak for sure to seeing them in DL in the carts. Hopefully someone can chime in.

Was just there 30th and 1st. Wait times were great (low). Pretzel situation was difficult. In DL there was one by small world. There big store by main street was closed. There may have been one other pretzel cart open, but I can't remember the location. In CA there was only the one by the swings where they sell beer (also was told there was another by the wharf but I couldn't find it). The giant pym pretzel is sold as well at pyms, buy we didn't try it.

Getting times for WS and ROTR was cake. Did both on the first day, and just WS on day two. My daughter didn't like ROTR (she's 4).

Overall a great time to go. The park is HOT though and I live in AZ where it was 117 a few weeks ago. The weather is gross at points but bearable. We usually left midday for a siesta.

Wait times have been total malarkey in a good way today. The walkways are busy but the ride lines aren’t. Got in the park a little after 2pm and did:

ROTR: Only a few minutes of waiting other than just walking the long queue.
MFSR: posted 35, actual ?? because single rider was a walk on
Pooh: posted 20, actual 10
Haunted Mansion: posted 25, actual 15
Pirates: posted 30, actual 7
BTMRR: posted 20, actual 10
Space: posted 45, actual ?? because single rider was a walk on
Snow White: posted 10, actual 15
Mater: posted & actual 5
Mermaid: posted & actual 5 (would have been walkon but ride was starting up again from a closure)
RSR: posted 45, actual ?? because I did single rider and waited 15 minutes including walking the queue. Note single rider was closed the first time I tried it. Went back less than an hour later and it was reopened.
Monsters Inc: posted 5, waited 8

All in all an absurdly successful first half day.
