Hey,

Can anyone give me an idea of the best rates you have gotten for any of the offical Disney hotels during the end of July or August? I'm used to WDW discounts so how often do discounts come on?

Any help would be great!!

We just paid $187+tax (hefty tax) at DLH with my DC discount. If I had booked sooner than I had, I could have gotten $162 + tax at DLH.

At it's cheapest, I was quoted $139 for Paradise Pier and $225 for GC.

I did see some better prices - in the 110's for PP on Expedia about 1-2 weeks before my tip. But, the DLH and GC were more pricey than what I had been quoted.

If you want to spend less, there are many motels (of varying qualities) with good shuttle service or an easy walk. Things are not spread out like WDW.

DLH was much noisier than I expected. Plus, the Neverland Pool was such a zoo that we stopped using it and went to the quieter pool. Even my daughter who loves a good slide was turned off by how busy it was. It was nice being an easy walk to the monorail and being right next to Downtown Disney. However, it was quite the hike to California Adventure or the Main Street entrance to DL.

GC is closest to both park main entrances. However, I wonder how quiet it can be as you are either facing a themepark, facing downtown disney or overlooking the monorail.

You may have to pre-pay 2 nights but their rates are the cheapest. This summer their rates were approx. $109 - $119/night for weekend nights, if you pre-paid for 2 nights.

IMHO, I've observed that all 3 DL properties will drop their rates the closer it gets to your arrival date if they're not sold out. Keep checking, on the internet and over the phone. Our AP rate dropped $60/night at the GC for July 5 - 7, between the day I made the res and 4 days before our trip, when I called again.

Both of our stays at the GC we've had courtyard rooms that faced where the monorail passes, and we never heard the monorail unless the door to the balcony was open & DS8 was looking for it. Hope this helps!
