Average number of times you go to WDW now that you own DVC?

Hey Gang,

In looking at some of the pictures of various resorts, I started wondering....how many times DVC'ers usually travel to WDW.

If you go multiple times in a year, is it usually a week, 2 weeks, or several shorter trips?

Our 1st year of ownership 2008 -2 trips(1-week long, and 1-4night)
Our 2nd year of ownership 2009 -3 trips(1-week long and 2-3night)

If we DIDN'T own DVC, we would definitely go twice a year for long weekends. I especially enjoy going to the Flower and Garden show and to see the Christmas celebrations. Every couple of years we would probably go to a MNSSHP.

With DVC.. 4-6 vacations of 4 to 8 days each year and probaly two are with the extended family, two just with DH, once with DGF's and every so often, I try a few nights solo.

Since we joined DVC in fall 2006 our trips:

May 2007 - 8 nights
July/Aug 2007 - 9 nights
Xmas 2007 - 6 nights

July 2008 - 10 nights
Jan. 2009 - 8 nights
July 2009 - 11 nights

We're going 2-3 times per year for 5-7 days each time. Basically, it's exactly what we were doing before DVC.

Joined Dec 2006 - now do multiple trips per year - usually 1 trip is for 7-10 nights + 1 or 2 shorter trips. We try to maximize AP's when we plan to get 3 trips on them. So our first 3 trips were on one. We let it expire and will now get new AP's in May & will plan 3 more trips on them:

1st trip was 7 n at OKW in Aug. 2007
2nd trip was 4 n at VWL in Jan. 2008
3rd trip was 3 n. at AKV in July 2008 + back-to-backs on the Wonder (the 4 nighter was on pts)
4th trip will be 4 n at SSR in May 2009
5th trip will be 7 n at BCV + 3 n at VB in Aug 2009

Can't book it yet but also kicking around the idea of going for 4 or 5 n over spring break 2010 which will make our 3rd trip on this new AP....

We go 4 to 5 x's a year for 4 to 7 days. Usually a full week for spring break and in the summer, other times are 4 day weekends.

Since becoming members we've been 3 times a year for 5 nights each. We've also been able to treat friends / family for vacations along with us by booking 2 studios rather than a 1 bedroom. We never would have considered this much traveling or treating before joining DVC! Even with some of the changes over the past few years, we've happy with DVC!

It's about 2 to 3 times per year. I think we'll settle into 2 times per year in the next year or so.

4 trips to Disney every year -- each trip at least 8 nights.

All our trips are listed in my signature and they ranged from 3 nights to 13 nights, but most are in the 6-8 night range.

Members since 2000. We used to go once a year for 10 to 11 days because we used the other two weeks for summer Harley trips. But in 2008 we started going 10 days in the early Spring and 8 days in late fall.

Well, we're a little different from the others who have posted. We only go once a year now that we own DVC, but before DVC we only went every 3 years, so for us we are going much more frequently.

We would probably go more frequently, but I teach and have a 12 month contract. I have specific weeks off during the year and ALL of them are during prime season. No way I am going to get DH to WDW during Christmas or Easter (well I got him there during Easter once and that's how I know he'll never go then again). The busiest time I can get him there is Jersey Week, but that's a walk in the park compared to the other weeks of the year I have off.

We go about 3-4 times per year- USE those annual passes!!!!
It's usiually DH and I for Sun-Thurs trips but the last 2 years we've taken our adult kids and this year SILaw. We even did our daughters wedding with extended family. Before DVC we went about every 5 years or so. I love going to Disney- sometimes we do alot in the parks and sometimes we just hang at the pools and enjoy the beautiful resorts grounds and activities (especially at our home SSR) LOVE IT!!!!

03/09 - 6 days in studio at BWV

We travel to WDW a lot more than we did pre-DVC, and only have 100 points.


BTW, I'm not that old. I was 2 on that 1971 trip.

For us it's once every other year for now, any more than that and our four DC ages 16 thru 24 said the trip would'nt be as special, just another amusement park. I can see DW and I taking more alone trips in the future tho.
