I was thinking that since my husband has now been to DW I'd like to secretly save $$ for a Disney Cruise. I was just wondering what the price range would be. Not looking for an extremely long cruise and don't need the finest room. Do any of the packages include a couple of days in Disney World? A lot of questions I know, sorry, just don't know much about the cruises.

Pricing is generally affected by (a) time of the year you cruise, (b) length of the cruise, (c) itinerary, and (d) the cabin category you select. So one of the first things you might want to do is figure out these things first. For example, if you have kids and can only travel on holidays or the summer, pricing on average will be higher. If you don't mind having an inside stateroom with no window or balcony, pricing on average will be lower. So decide what your preferences are (or what you're willing to deal with at a minimum), and then it's much easier to figure out estimated pricing.

Disney does offer a great 7 day land/sea package, which is usually a few days at the parks and a few days on the Wonder. It's a great way to get the best of both worlds and get your feet wet in the cruising world. My DH and I did that package for our first cruise and loved it. Disney has a fabulous system for it too: you check in once at the hotel for both land and sea portions and your hotel room key is also your cabin key.

You'll learn a lot from these forums - there are many, many experienced DCL guests here with lots of useful info. You might also benefit from hooking up with a knowledgeable travel agent who specializes in Disney. Good luck!

One other thing: keep in mind that the cruise fare is only a part of your vacation costs (which I'm sure you know). Be prepared to save for airfare, transfers to/from the port, excursions, pictures, souvenirs, gratuities, spa treatments....oh you name it! I think in the end, our cruise fare was about 50% of the total cost.

You can price up a fare on dcls website without obligation, obviously the shorter cruises are cheaper but may leave you wanting more :-)
