Well, for one, Uni already has both Harry Potters that (one might say) Avatar Land was a response to in the first place. Plus, Uni has Mario, Zelda, Fast and Furious, Potter 3, and probably much more coming soon, possibly all sooner then some of the DHS additions.

Saw what they have so far of Skull Island of course they have walls up lol (I think thats the name lol) and I will tell you this, as much as I love Disney, Universal is winning this race, it looks sooooooo amazing

Lol We are doing WDW at the end of September. I've been over 100+ times but not since fp+ etc. have come about. Will probably be our last trip to see the mouse for quite some time. Will be at USO the next week. Only our 4th visit this year. Got a lot of making up to do to get close to last years 10 visits!

Let's see, the rumors/confirmed additions to the parks include: Kong, Hello Kitty, Volcano Bay water park, Nintendo, Fast and Furious, Jimmy Fallon, . The first 3 are expected to be done before Avatarland opens.

Yep. It's WDW who needs to respond to Universal's growth at this point - not the other way around.

Exactly. Cars Land and/or Star Wards Land are only rumors at this point. As much as I'm excited for new stuff at WDW the pressure is on Disney to knock this out of the park as a response to the HP stuff at Universal.

New Fantasyland officially announced Sept. 2009 - 7DMT opens May 2014 so nearly 5 years there.
Carsland /DCA overhaul (Disneyland) - Concept Art Dec. 2006 - opened June 2012 5 1/2 years.

Universal
Jaws Closed Jan 2012 - WWOHP Diagon Alley opened July 2014 : 1 1/2 years (2 1/2 if you count Dec 2011 announcement of expansion of WWOHP)

ridiculous??? Universal in the last 3 years has been building new attractions quicker and faster than disney and is starting to take away market share from the slow moving wdw parks. harry potter was built in 2 years, kong will be done in 1, avatarland with be 3 years. disney will anounce this weekend a 3 billion plus construction for wdw parks to respond to how well universal is doing. my question is simply what will universal do next to respond. how is that ridiculous?

I totally agree universal has been kicking disneys butt with how fast they get their attractions up and running. Disney will respond this weekend and hopefully ( I maybe dreaming here) speed up their builds. I was just wondering what the next big step will be for universal? a 3rd gate maybe? a new land. they will have to respond somewhere just like disney had to respond to them. what will it be??? hmmmmm?

some ppl seem to think I'm bashing universal for some reason. folks I think hey are doing great things nowadays in the parks. In fact I think they have been killing disney with what they have done and all disney has done is add more shopping to downtown disney and add a parking garage. which took 3 years by the way. a parking garage??? Universal is doing so well it's forced disney to make a huge investment back in the parks which is great for everyone. All my question was is whats next for universal, a 3rd gate a new land redoing some of their older attractions ?? I thought disney fans were defensive. What have universal fans to be defensive about they've been winning.

Nobody was defensive....just amused. With the way Disney runs things, Universal doesn't have to worry about answering to anything new at DHS for quite a while. The multitudes of things they have coming up in the next 3 years will all be done before anything happens over at WDW. Kong will be ancient history as will Fast and Furious and the Marvel expansion and the Nintendo expansion and the Twister replacement.

Universal announces something and it is done with a couple of years. We won't know for about 3 years what they will do to answer the changes at DHS.
