Avatar Land or Star Wars Land if you could choose

I hope that they build both. They are so far behind the curve as it is.

We would check out the new additions but will continue to enjoy Harry Potter. I expect that all three franchises will continue to draw.

I agree if disney does this right attendance will go through the roof. Pandora plans look amazing. With the addition of AK becoming a night time park and a new night time show. This will make record attendance at AK. People will not consider AK a half day park anymore. Same with DHS they need it bad and Star Wars is the perfect thing to expand with.

I had missed they were starting Avatarland already. You mentioned Pandora plans do you have a link?

I really like HP at Universal it is really top notch. We are DVC members and want to see Disney keep up with the development of the Park attractions.

I would have preferred Star Wars myself but understand the timing issues. AK needs something and Avatar dovetails perfectly.

Would like to see Star Wars SOONER rather than later.

This is on the disney parks blog the concept art and announcement were done at the d23 expo in japan.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about Avatarland; I watched the movie with high expectations, and wasn't overly impressed. Having it at AK wil not make me want to go there, and I am probably selling it way short, but the high point there for me is Expedition Everest.

Star Wars, on the other hand, would be great. I am a huge SW fan, but (as stated earlier), what world would you make? (Ask 100 different people, get 100 different answers).

And the level of detail will never be good enough for the die hard fans. As is with HP world.

Will AK being a night time park now make you want to go see what it's like at night tho?

Maybe; it would also depend on other plans.. if I get a four day park hopper, I usually do 2 @ MK, 1 @ HS, 1 @ Epcot or AK. This is supposed to be 2 consecutive trips to EPCOT, so I think next time will be an AK day.

To be fair, when we did go to AK, it was raining and miserable, my nephew was on the trip and kept instigating DD and made it a rough trip. Perhaps we didn't give AK a fair shot.

Ehhh...
Perhaps they should go
Ahead and give it a try anyway?

I know it's not as "tough and responsible" as the "do nothing approach"...but why not
Give it a whirl?

I'm kinda annoyed (shocking) by the Iger "we're working on it" comments...
Return of a Jedi is 31 years old (which means I'm getting old and that's why the hair cropped up in that spot)...and it shouldn't be that tough.
Honestly

What disneys track record not good enough? Lol yeah i agree nothing 100% until shovels are moving dirt
Although i put it at 99%

Anyone there see any progress on it yet?

We can spend a day there every other visit but it's never been a gotta go destination for us.

Although I really enjoy the parade there and staying in the Villas was cool with the animals being outside the balcony.

only progress is on FOTLK
Camp Minnie mickey is closing today and we should see progress soon on Pandora/Avatar

Star Wars Definitely - They should just make a whole new park.

I really didn't like Avatar, but the scenery was beautiful all glow in the dark, so I'm hoping the land will be better than the movie. I think the land has great potential despite the movie.

Although, personally, I'd rather see some kind of jungle land where they brought back the Tarzan show and maybe incorporated other Disney movies that have a jungle theme, more rides/ shows not just shops and restaurants. I think that would fit better with the animal kingdom overall. I'm probably the only one who would like this though. Not modern enough for most people.

Never saw avatar, actually no one could sit through it. Star Wars Land, has a nice ring to it. We LOVE all things Star Wars. We don't even go to AK anymore, avatarland will not change that for us.

Yes camp Minnie Mickey and FOTLK closes today. There has been a lot of prep work going on construction trailer are in that area and height balloons have been used in the avatar area.

Everyone says avatar is a bad movie so therefor it will be a bad land or I will never go to it. I think everyone is blowing this out of proportion. I know it wasn't the greatest movie but I don't think it needs to be a good movie in order to be a good land. I think disney can do great things with this. By the looks of the concept art and yes I know its only concept art but I strongly believe disney will do something great with avatar. And with avatar that means AK is going to become a night time park. That will make more people got to AK. A night time show will also increase attendance. I don't like when people say I don't go to AK or I only do it as a half day park. There is so much to do there that is over looked its unbelievable. I think AK is a truly remarkable park people take it for granted. On every vacation I have gone to AK and spent at least one full day there. AK is the largest park that disney owns. They have some great attractions and are looking to improve that with avatar. I don't believe you will need to like the movie in order to like this new land. I will say yes more attractions are needed but between entertainment, attractions, food, and everything else there it's truly a full day park already.

I totally agree with this. I didn't care for the movie and would prefer Star Wars, but think Avatar land will be nice based on the art as well.

My family also does not find AK a half day park either. We usually spend about 1.5 days there. We love the parade, EE, the safari, Lion King, Tusker House, Dinosaur, all the animals, and now the wilderness explorers. We always leave with things on our to do list we didn't get the time to do.

Of the 2, I would choose Star Wars. DHS is in dire need of new attractions... and since Star Wars is such a draw, and they host Star Wars weekend, it would seem the obvious choice.
