So We just got back from a one day visit to AK(Monday the 18th) it was a bad day to visit:rotfl: as it had AM EMH, but it was our only option on a short stop. We got FOP FP for 5:50 that day- but the whole park was just crowded anyway,I assume due to early EMH. We didn't arrive till about 8:30 (sigh, family) and FOP was over 3 hours by then, and Navi boats were at about 1.5 hours. Not happening- Everest was busy, but my fam used single rider a couple of times- Dinosaur was broken down much of the day, but never showed in the app as broken. When it was up, lines were about 45 mins. (we finally rode it after the evening show) We LOVED the Avatar section...it is breathtaking, and the FOP ride is EVERYTHING it's cracked up to be,and more. It is AMAZING. (as were the lines!) Using FP+,it still took about 1/2 to get on the ride. We never got to see Navi boats,as it closed before the park closed, and we were attempting to get in line later to avoid waiting. Next time I will avoid EMH hours as I think that added to the crowds all over the park all day. We liked the night show, very pretty. We watched from Flame Tree BBQ area- Did the safari ride with a FP also, otherwise line was fairly long all day too. Enjoyed watching the tree shows at night too, very pretty!

AK seems to be very busy on every Monday. We visited on a Monday without EMH, and the place was still mobbed.

It’s been mobbed every day.

I really liked the Navi river journey, it was lovely. I got motion sick on Flight of Passage but I enjoyed the ride. I just didn’t think it was mind blowing. I am tired of motion simulators and screens. My body just can’t handle them.

didn't it used to be that Magic Kingdom was the park to avoid on Mondays? That's changing I guess?

MK is still really bad on Monday's. Went on the 11th, and it was packed everywhere. Hard to believe that schools weren't on break yet.

also surprised that Navi closed early...is that normal too?

We went to AK Tuesday the 12, Friday the 15th, Sunday the 17th, and Tuesday the 19th to avoid EMH days. It had a lot of people and wait times were long, but using FP and single rider at EE helped. We do rides without FP early then FP. trails, and shows at the crowded times and it makes for a great day.
On Sunday we drove from AKL and could not make that turn into the parking lot because lines were backed up way past. We came from the other direction Tuesday and it was backed up past again. It's definitely become a popular place.

We just got back. We had a FP for FOP on Wednesday, 10:30. However, EMH was the Monday prior and we really wanted to do FOP more then once so we got to the park by 7:30. We were quickly funneled to Pandora, literally was only 30 minutes from when we walked(ran) in the direction of Pandora until we were on FOP. Loved the ride. Wandered right over to the river ride next door, wait time 45 min. Since we didn't have a FP at all for that ride, we waited. May I just say it wasn't worth even a 15 minute wait. BORING! I can't believe I'm seeing 100 + minutes for that ride. FOP? Yes, River ride...NO way.

We went back on Wednesday, took advantage of FP for The Lion King. We had early EE FP, I must have gone on it 4 times, back to back, my hubby quit after 2 times. Rope drop really allows you to ride your favorite rides multiple times. It's still not an all day park for us, same as HS but we enjoy the the parts we like!

Was EMH 8 on that day? So you got there 30 minutes before EMH officially started?

was there also 12/12. Park was very crowded, Pandora even more so. We had FP for River, which we walked right on- really enjoyed it, about 3d time have been on it. Lines for FOP were 205 minutes, stand by for river about 100 minutes. Wouldnt stand in line that long for anything.

Yes, we got on the 7am bus from BWI, prolly at the park entrance by 7:20...then they started funneling toward Pandora. It was an 8am EMH. Hubby not thrilled with the big rush in the am...so likely that'll be the last time we run to any park:).

I agree. My opinion is a 45 min, wait is too long for River ride, not worth it. FOP...now that we've done it twice, prolly wouldn't wait longer then an hour, if we couldn't get a FP.

We're back a week now, from a week and half there, and I can tell you all the parks were busy, crowded except for Tues. Wed our first week. AK was super busy! Usually only go there for a few hours, but had FOP FP's and a ressie at Tiffins, so was there longer.

Dh loved FOP so he got to use all 5 FP's in the three days at AK except one which I used. Was too jerky and changed scenes too fast for my eyes/brain (LOL) to adjust and really felt weirdly shaky for an hour after. No more for me.

We haven't been in early Dec. since 2010 and it has really gotten much more crowded in that time - don't have plans for that time frame again.

Also, because of xmas party at MK and the park closing so early, we only got to see HEA and Storytime once. Very frustrating. Late spring after Spring Breaks so much nicer for us.

I wouldn’t wait more than 45 minutes for flight of passage. It’s a fancy motion simulator, nothing more. The best part about it was the breathing effect. That was thoughtful attention to detail.

I'm actually glad that Animal Kingdom is becoming more popular. I've always loved it and it's always been special at night. It deserves success...it's been a looooong time coming!
