Our contract was submitted to Disney on April 1st for ROFR. How much longer from now will I have to wait until I can make ressies? Also, assuming we can't make reservations until May, what does availability normally look like in Sept. or Oct. We would be interested in a studio, but we would do a 1 bedroom if we had to. The wait is killing me, and I want to start planning now!!:)
Thanks

We have stayed in Sept two times and are about to stay a 3rd and we have never had any trouble. The only time there is a shortage of studios is during the Food and Wine festival. Last year we had a split stay during the F&W with a 1 bdrm at BWV then a studio at OKW. We didn't mind the move at all. It was nice to try out the different resorts. Good luck on ROFR, and Welcome Home!

is probably the easiest to get during that time frame. After that the Food and Wine Festival will make it harder to get a room. If you are happy staying at any of the resorts, your chances are better, but if you have your heart set on BWV or BCV, you might be disappointed. If you are flexible, you probably will be able to get something.

Our first two contracts took about 2 1/2 months from offer to first booking. Just so you know where we are in our purchase (which may help you with your time line):

* VB contract went to ROFR on 3/13.
* Found out that we passed ROFR on 3/27.
* It's 4/9 and we're still waiting on estoppels to come back from Disney. The title company needs these to proceed with closing. Once estoppels come back, the closing docs are prepared and sent to buyer and seller to sign and mail back payment. Depending on the turnaround, the contract will close within a week or so of receiving the docs back.

So, let's assume that our estoppels come back on Monday, 4/14. If it takes 2 days to send in the paperwork, a week for the closing company to close the sale and record it, and 7 - 10 days for Disney to get the contract, set it up, put it in our name and deposit the points, we wouldn't be able to make our first reservation until the week of May 5th. So, beginning to end of this contract if it goes as I indicated...a little over 2 months. So based on 3 contracts, I would guess late May - early June to make a reservation.
