Availability at Orbitz, Nothing at Disney.com

i need to extend my trip by a day. When I tried to do so at Disney.com I got a no availability even at rack rates but when I searched elsewhere Orbitz had a room for my date at a discount. Is this normal?

Yes because Orbitz etc have room blocks that they have to sell or eat the cost of them so while Disney may have booked every room up if they have already told expedia, orbitz, priceline, etc that they are getting 15 rooms to try and sell they can't then take those rooms back from them.
