Automated Ordering Machines

I tried them last week!

No one was in line, so Little Sazzo and I hopped up, stroller and all, ordered while DH and older DD were fast passing BTMRR, and we were just sitting down to the table when they showed up for lunch!

Also, I was timing it with others ordering by mouth at the same time that I was ordering by hand, and we were sitting down with DH and older DD, after being at the fixin's bar, when said family walked out to find a table!

I love it! Some imagineer, should get should definitely get promoted for this one!

For years I have been wishing for the same thing at chain restarants. I much rather order what I want from the table on a push button screen than wait (and wait) for a server to come around.

Okay, but I have a really, really strong feeling that this new system is not intended to, and will never, replace servers at sit-down restaurants. Commentary: diners preferring not to wait (and wait) for a server would likely better enjoy a counter service restaurant.

I like the idea, but since I pay cash for food, I'll never get to try it.

They have machines like this when you order food at WaWa, except you don't pay at them. They handle custom orders just fine, I'm shocked Disney couldn't get something more efficient, since well, they're Disney!

I went into a quick chek that had the machines. It was so cool. You pick your sandwich. topping, cheese...etc. The order slip spits out and you pay at the cashier. I grabbed my soda chips paid for everything and by the time I was done my food was ready. I agree with you!!! I don't know why disney can't have it set up in that way.
