Last time I made my DS autograph books from colored cardstock and foam covers with silve binder rings....they even decorated the covers.
Much cuter and cheaper than WDW...
BUT........
since we already did that, any other ideas?
T-shirts?
just have them carry tee's pull them out for autographs or what????
Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :wave2:

Autographs - what we have done....

First - bring a black sharpie marker

T-shirt - buy a white or light colored t-shirt (Disney themed) and have autographs done on it (place paper between the front and back when signing)

Buy a bongo drum in Mexico and have the white top leather signed

Buy a hat - again white or light colored (Disney themed) and have it signed.

More creative and time consuming... Make & Decorate a scroll
Make a scroll from 2 dowels and buy a piece of linen cloth to fit between.

1) Cut the material into a rectangle (size is your choice). Fold down the short ends of the rectangle about one inch (width of dowel). Sew the edge of the short ends of the rectangle to its self to create a pocket for the dowel to go through at each end (top and bottom of the scroll).

2)You can add trim to the ends of the material.

3) Before you go - get a Mickey or Disney stamp - use material paint or ink and stamp a pattern at the edges of the scroll.

4) Bring the scroll with your to WDW, you can bring the dowels if you wish.
Have the characters sign the material. Have the countries in EPCOT stamp the material with their country stamp.

5)When you get home, after the WDW vacation, iron the backside (non-writing side) to flatten out any creases from traveling.

6) Place the dowels at the top and bottom of the scroll. Attach a small rope or ribbon to the top scroll. Hang in your child's room.
Their memory of WDW, and a conversation started for thier friends, will be on their wall for a few years.

pooh2001 - the scroll is an AWESOME idea. I just HAVE to do that. I think I'll use iron on transfer paper and some clip art I have to add to the scroll. Do you have any suggestions on how to have them sign it? I mean, what do you put behind the fabric sturdy enough for them to sign it?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that idea :thumbsup2

Oh, oh, oh - what about putting the PICTURES of kids with characters onto transfer paper AFTER we get home and add that to it? I just HAVE to do the scroll idea.

We did light colored hats for my dd's and they LOVE them. dd 10 did a tan baseball hat with a very small mickey on the top and dd 8 did a light pink bucket hat. This worked out the best of any other things we had done for two reasons.

First was they were easy to grab when getting in line for a character as they wore them and the sharpie was clipped to my waist pack. A bonus was that they wore the hat and since they are fair skinned we needed that in FL

Second is that they wear/display and look them more often than any of the other book, t-shirt or other things we had done in the past. My youngest wears her hat often and they both have a special hook in their rooms to hang the hat when not worn.

They came out so good that my neice and nephew are going to start one during their September trip.

My daughter was wearing a princess visor. Snow White asked if she could sign it--very cool. She had her own sharpie. We wished we would have thought of it sooner.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!

These are great ideas! Thank you so much! Now I have to get busy!
