Ok, where on earth do you find them? I went to 2 dollar stores & Walmart today & nothing! The girl at Walmart said she'd never seen them in there before. We looked anyways but left empty handed.

Where should I go looking for them here in Southern Ontario (Hamilton)?

Official "autograph" books are usually only found in Florida - you can pick them up at the Wal-mart there for cheaper than the parks.

...However, you can pick up really nice "sketch" books at Dollarama, Michael's, or other craft places. They have thicker paper so work well with sharpies. I have found ones at Dollarama that have an elastic that holds the page in place -- great for little ones to hold for the characters. They can decorate the cover with stickers to make it more "disney."

What I do after the trip is purchase a small photo album, and then I put the authograph page from the sketchbook on one side and the photo of the girls with the character on the other side. No need for the official photo-autograph book. :thumbsup2

Dollar Giant by the Ancaster Walmart has some spiral bound small notebooks with Tinkerbell or the Princesses on the front of them that would work well as autograph books. Dollarama has some "hardbound" Disney notebooks too.:)

I was at the Dollar Giant today at Ancaster Walmart & saw those books & thought if I couldn't find an actual autograph book that's what I would end up getting.

I find it hard to believe there are no autograph books around. I had one when I was a kid & we used to go to sporting events & I would always take it with me. I am also NOT very crafty so making one is out of the question :)

I'm going to check out Chapters & see what they have.

I just used a princess notebook for my girls and then took out the pages on put them in a photo album with the phots I took.

Now I know Creative memories has a 7 x 7 size or around that of a photo album with mickey ears on it. Just look it up on line. Though it is more money than one you can buy at the park.

How much is it to buy one in the park?

The last time I bought one at the park was years ago, all I remember is I didn't flinch at the price so it can't be that much. I know the pen we bought cost way too much though ( we had left our pen in our room)

Maybe someone else has purchased one recently and has a better idea of the cost now.

According to the link a previous poster had for the Disney Store online, the plain official Disney autograph books are $7 USD, and the ones with place for photos is $11 USD. The photo one only has 12 pages for autographs, and 12 for photos. They have the cushiony-type covers.

it's 6.95 for the basic blue one with tons of pages and 12.95 for the tink or princess ones that don't have nearly as many pages, even perhaps the pic pages to go with i cant remember...then there's also two that are bigger and i would consider deluxe. i believe those are 19.95.

we wait until at the park/resort, they're sold at both. if you order from disney, not only are you paying the exchange you also get dinged with duty when you receive it.

We haven't been able to find them here in AB either and just plain scrapbooks are 25-35 at michael's crafts! We decided to get some glittery foam for the covers and cardstock for the pages and will bind them together with binder rings for the girls to use for our upcoming trip to DL. We could buy some there but loved the attention the characters gave with the ones we brought to WDW in 2007.

We also got some disney stickers that were on clearance so at night they can decorate the signed page and then once we have the pictures developed we'll add them to the books.

I liked the idea of being able to add extra pages as needed cause we ran out of space in 2007 and had to buy new books in the parks for the girls to finish off!!!

We just finished making ours.

We used 2 Coloured Foam Sheets, and glued in a cardboard sheet between them. It made for a sturdy cover (both front and back).

Then we bought 5 x 8 blank index cards (card stock). And used 5 book rings down the edges. Each book has 100 pages.

We also picked up sticker sheets, and decorated them.

The kids will use it for autographs, photos, and a diary of daily activities.

Personally I like to have the official one each year and we buy it as soon as we get to the parks/resorts. Its only $6.95 for the blue one and there are alot of pages. I wouldn't want a cheap dollar store one to keep those precious memories. DD loves to look at them all teh time!

For $6.95 I'll wait until I'm at the park instead of running around southern ontario trying to find one :)

Thanks guys, wonderful info & beautiful pics of the ones you made. Mine would never turn out like that!
