Does anybody know how much the autograph books are in Disney World? We got one for my son in 2004 but I don't remember how much it was then. I am trying to decide between buying new ones when we get down there or ordering some beforehand so that we have them ready to go!!!!

Thanks!!

I opted to buy before we got there. It was one less thing to worry about :) And, I really liked this book because of 1) the spiral 2) very character specific!

I placed a couple of orders with this ebayer and it was great.

I didn't even know that you could buy actual autograph books! We just bought the kids the Birnbaum's WDW Guide for Kids and there are several autograph pages in the back of the book. That's what I was planning on taking along for the kids. I don't think I have time to order any others, we leave in 4 days!

I was pricing them when we were there in January and the one we ended up buying was a Princess one that had a page for the signature and then a page next to it for a developed photo. That one was a little more and I think it cost $9.99. I believe their standard autograph book (It's blue, a little smaller, and has pictures of the characters on it) ran $7.99. It just had pages for signatures not a slot to add a photo later.

I posted on it about making my own, several others did too. I didnt do much prepwork for mine. I decorated it afterwards.

I just bought 4X6 and 8X8 scrapbooks from walmart or wherever cheap ones just spiral bound with papery type covers not the nice hardbound ones. In one case a half page size 3 ring binder and a bunch of colored cardstock - this one I did prepwork for since I had to cut the full page cardstock in half after printing journal/fun pages (that mostly went unused) for my dd7 from themouseforless.com to put in it. We jused used them as we went and made them into scrapbooks afterwards by adding the appropriate pictures etc. The 8X8 one made for a real nice scrapbook (the fairy godmother at 1900 park fare dinner made a great 'title' page signature for my dd).

I head read about making pages with the characters on them but I thought that would cause more trouble since then my dd would always have to find the 'right' page instead of just the next page.

I liked the 3 ring one best because then any page was fine and she could put it in the right spot easier. And Overall liked spiral/3 ring for the ease of opening/turning pages and being able to 'hold on to' the right page.

I have also seen disney themed journal/diary etc type hard books that seem as if they would work very nicely for this at places like walmart/big lots/dollar general very cheap. My target has some scrapbooks clearanced right now, I was going to buy the tinkerbell one but it was the only one I saw without a red sticker and sure enought it wasnt clearanced.

How old do you guys think kids have to be to enjoy collecting character autographs? My son will be 2.5yrs on our next trip. I got him Birnbaum's guide for kids for the pictures and to prep him for attractions a bit, and he loved the idea of Mickey and Pooh signing his book. Does it seem nutty for us to collect autographs for a 2.5yr old, or does it make a nice souvenir for when he's older? :confused3 Curious what you guys think...

I dont know so much about the souvenier for later. although that is why we went with the scrap book idea. My daughters got turned into a scrap book and she looks through it occasionally. we had a lot of fun making it together with her choosing the pictures to put with each autograph. My sons however never had anything done with it. He has taken the same one on both trips (age 4 and age 5) and loves looking through it on rare occasions. He compares who he got which trip. It was just an added fun thing. We were on the dining plan and I didnt want to wait in lines anymore than we had to so we planned as many character meals as we could and did very little line waiting and gave them something to occupy themselves during slow times in meals. We also used the book as a distraction during other long waits by discussing who we got and who else we hoped to see. We waited in more lines last year since we were trying to get ones we didnt already have. And I really really dont think 2 is too young. You can always add pictures to help him remember who was who.

Thanks - that's a great idea! Actually, Disney should sell a packet of stickers, one corresponding to each character the kids have a chance to meet in the parks! Then you can just place the sticker next to the signature. Who am I kidding?!? They MUST have thought of this if I have, right?!?! That, or you have to buy multiple packs to collect all the characters, right??

I joke, but I love this stuff!

I bought the 7x7 scrapbook from Creaztive Memories. It has a Mickey Head on the front cover and will hold up to 36 pages. I am going to prep it a little before we leave. I have the matching bigger scrapbook for our album when we get back. I figure with it being her ( 5 yr old d) first trip I will have plenty of pictures to fill one whole book. It was a little more expensive but I know the CM brand and I trust it will last longer than other books.

I bought the Pirate one just for me during my trip last week. It was $6.95 plus tax. Probably the best souvenir that I have from my trip!

I already have 3 of the CM 7x7 books (that will be used for my son's first trip in '04 whenever I get around to actually doing it). I plan to use 1 book for each park. I also have the 12x12 one for our upcoming trip! Gotta love a MIL that's a CM rep!
