Is there a link that gives a rundown on how to make autograph books? I'd like to make them for my siblings for our trip in October but I am a tad unsure of how to go about it. Thanks in advance!

I put mine in with my photographs. Other people have them bound. Hopefully someone who has put a book together will respond to you. :confused3 I am bumping it back toward the top.

Here is what I did:

1. I hate when pages don't match up exactly so I printed them out double sided on 5X8 unlined index cards. They are also much cheaper than cardstock.
2. The best way to print them is to let your computer do the work. Rename the character book graphics so that the look like 01, 02 . . . you can also keep the rest of the name, but this will keep it in order.

3. Put them in a seperate folder.

4. Right click on the file and click print. If you are using windows a wizard should pop up and ask you what pictures you want to print.

5. Click select all. Go into your printer preferences and change the paper size to 5X8 index cards and double sided printing. Your printer will take care of the rest.

6. I printed a front cover and a back cover.

7. Went to Staples and had them laminate the front and back cover (you can also get them to add a plastic cover and a back cover for an extra charge) and bind the book. It cost about $3 and took only about 2 hours, that's because they had other things to do.

That's it.

Here's my autograph book:
(I did not do the designs, thanks to Natalie and Heather)

The set up is to have the character sign where their picture is and put a picture of me and the character on the opposite page.

I have seen the autograph book designs that Natalie did... but where can i find the ones that Heather did? I love the look of your book, thanks for sharing with us. ;)

There were some issues with someone selling Heather's designs so they were taken down. I have quite a few, but I don't feel I should post them. If you send me you email I can try to send them to you. The files are very large though.

I do remember reading about someone selling them on Ebay.... still can't believe some people. :sad2:

We are going in Nov. so i would love to make 3 of them for my kids.

I am going to PM you with my email address.

Thanks!!

Michele

For my autograph book, I copied the 4x6 designs into word and used regular sized paper.
On another DISer's recommendation, I did this:
Here's what I did with them:

I printed out half of the pages, then I turned the paper around and printed the other half - they were both on the same side of the paper, but one was upside down, if that makes sense. That way I could save paper.

Also, I made a page that has no character on it, just a design on the page. I printed a couple of those out for any characters we encountered that I did not make a page for.

I used cardstock, not regular paper, so it was more sturdy.

One person also recommended to save $$ you could Then, I cut the paper in half, punched holes in each page and put 2 large book rings in each hole (like what is in a binder, but these are loose).
There were so many pages, that it was thick enough to make it easy to write on, but you could flip the pages all the way around so it was flat.

I am also taking my book to Staples for them to do the binding and have the front cover laminated.

Currently several people here are doing some super cute autograph disigns....check out these pages

As for how many pages, that is really up to you. I only did the characters that I thought my DD would recognize and a few blank pages in case she met someone she wanted to get an autograph from.

future_imagineer819....How many pages did your book end up having?

I think I ended up with 24 pages 48 designs. I put the characters in for the character meals I am going to and some characters I really want to see. (I'm 21 and have never gotten autographs.) It was just my personal preference.
