Autograph books - do you do them?

This is our second time to Disney with kids, but the first time they were just babies. This year they are 2,4 and 6 - all boys. I don't know I the will be interested in getting autographs or the characters at all. Do you think it's worth it? DS1 loves Peter Pan, DS2 loves Jake and DS3 is obsessed with Cars and Mickey. Maybe it will get them interested in the other characters a bit more? I kinda wish I could just ask them!

My 8 year old has been planning her disney shopping for months and the first thing that she wants is an autograph book. My 6 year old wants one too, which probably means the the 4 year old will follow their lead.

I taught a 6 year old who went to DL last year and one of the things that she couldn't wait to show the class was her autograph book. I guess it's a way they get to take some Disney magic home with them.

DS was happy to collect autographs when he was younger. Now, it's great to look back at the signatures and remember.

Yep, Baby Girl had an autograph book both times. On one page we had the autograph and opposite I stuck a picture of her with the characters. She won't remember meeting them but it's a fun way to look back and who she 'met' each trip :)

Oh yes, it is one of DS most treasured items from our last trip to DL when he was 4 (turning 5). We bought one from the Disney store in Downtown Disney the night before we went to DL (it included a special Disney pen as well), and we will get another one this time. DS is already talking about taking it in for show and tell when he gets back!

I LOVE the autograph books and I did them until DS would do them. Sadly, the last few years he would not :worried:

I always did the photo autograph books and they were the best memories. I still have them and love looking through them from time to time. We did used to go through two to three books a trip though as there are so many characters and the photo books don't seem to hold as many as just the autograph books.

I probably wouldn't have done just the autograph book that was just signatures. It's the photo and the signature that I love.

Rightio, looks like I'll have to buy a few. Thanks for the input! :)

Autograph books are so much fun for the younger kids. We did them on our first trip to HK Disneyland, gave it a miss the 2nd trip, but my daughter did have fun with it, we just did 2 very close trips so felt like it had just been done! I would do it again for our USA trip :) Great for the character breakfasts!

We did them as kids (back in 1999) and loved them! We still have them! Maybe that's what's made me such an avid autograph hunter at the stage door at the theatre! :rotfl:

I was thinking of doing something like calico bags for our next trip though (maybe with something painted/drawn on beforehand). I figured it might be a bit more useful than a book, especially when I've already got one, and would make a cool, but inexpensive souvenir!

My daughter was 18 last year when we went and she was lining up for photos and autographs everywhere. :)

Our trip to DL 3 years ago my son did them and loved it. We arranged for a pack to be waiting in our room from Mickey which included his ears autograph book pens and some photos I think and a personalised note. He thought it was fantastic and started of a really special time for him and us. We had found Donald (or Daffy as I kept calling him) a bit elusive but tracked him down on our last day.

This will be our third trip and our DD plan on getting them again. Our girls are aged 11 and 14, love getting their photo's taken and placing then aside the autographs.

This year our eldest DD, her friends have all asked her to get them an autograph book with autographs. Had to tell her I was sure Mickey didn't want to sign 4 or 5 books at a time, so I suggested we get them a character each.

We do the same leaving a page for the photo of character and DD together.

On our last trip, oldest DD did not come with us, my younger daughter took some of the character photos with oldest DD and had them signed for her. She has them pinned up around her desk.

My boys were 10 and 7 and they loved collecting the autographs. Like others we have the autograph on one page and a photo taken of them with the respective character on the facing page. They loved showing them to their friends when we got back and it was quick enough to not bore anyone. :goodvibes

I saw the most divine autograph book at Disneyland I've ever seen yesterday. I really really wanted it! It's a princess one (so not good for the boys) but those with girls, oh they are going to love them. They are the photograph and autograph books.

I saw that in the Disney Store online and wished there was a fab 5 version for my little guy!
