Let me tell you what I have. I have two 5 x 5 creative memory books and disney stickers (2 little girls). I initially thought I would go ahead and have the stickers and all put in but I thought it would be TOO time consuming to find Mickey's page to sign, Pluto, Donald.....and so forth.

BUT I don't want to have signatures end up on both "sides" of hte book because I would like to put the picture that corresponds with the autography (am I making sense?), and if hte autograph is in the middle of the page, the picture would cover it.

What suggestions do YOU have for the autograph book dilemma that is brewing in my head?

TIA ::jester: :smooth: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

hi, not too sure of what you mean, but this is what we did......
my daughter bought the autograph book at Disney, Had the characters only sign on the right page and the left page was the picture. It came out so cute!!

I know exactly what you mean!

Don't do it!

I intended to have the characters sign the book starting from page one, going back. I was going to put the pic of the "signing" on the opposite page.

Character meetings can get so crazy. I'd try to have the book open, but lots of times they drop it, or such & reopen it to another page.

Hense, we got autographs all over. Plus, you'll meet the same characters more than once. If your child is like mine, s/he won't care they've already gotten their autograph. We must have gotten at least 10 Mickeys!!

Decorate the book when you return. Or, later that night in the hotel.

I also wanted to do what you said. I thought I was so organized!!!

At each signing I would open all of my kids books plus mine, 5 all together and hand them out to everybody. Then one of the kids would close his before he handed it to the character or hand it to them upside down. So we ended up with autographs back to back, upside down and empty pages in between!!

After awhile I started to open all of them, stack them all on top of each other and hand the pile to my 11 year old daughter. Some of the characters would take the whole pile from her at the same time and some would take them from her one at a time. This seemed to work better having her hand over the books and then take them back one at a time after they had been signed. I was free to take all of the pictures I wanted!

Just got back from Disney on Monday ... I took 2 Creative Memories Razzy Red 5x7 albums and two black CM round tip pens. My intention was to get the characters to sign on each page (front and back), then come home and insert blank pages in between the signed pages.

Well, it didn't work out as well as I hope ... the kids marked themselves, the books AND the characters with the round tip pens (the ballpoint pens we used last year were much less messy! ) ... I'd open the books to the proper pages, but as another poster said the kids would close the book ... so the autographs got out of order ... my grandson even managed to get one autograph upside down ... of course that was the Queen of Hearts so she may have done it on purpose, LOL!!! Plus it was a pain pulling those bulky autograph books in and out of my bag and they took a bit of a beating.

Now before I decided to drag the 5x7 albums with me I bought several spiral bound 3x5 "sketch books" from Michael's ... the paper in these are white and pretty thick ... I planned on having the characters sign in these, then cut the page out, mat it and place it in the 5x7 albums and put the photos on the opposite side. My daughter ended up using one of the sketch pads to collect signatures.

This worked out really well and the small size was easily to store/handle ... not to mention that she'll be able to put Alice, the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, etc. together in her photo/autograph album, while my grandkids have the autographs all scattered around ... somehow my granddaughter ended up with Chip'n Dale's signatures in the middle of the Cinderella characters signatures ... I'm still not sure how that happened as we were collecting Cindy's signatures at a dinner ... guess those mischevious chipmunks skipped some pages when they signed her book!

So when we go back next year, the grandkids will be using the sketch books.

I also planned on pre-decorating the album, but decided that it would be a pain to find the proper page, and what about the unexpected characters ... like the green army men? Also we got a BUNCH of Mickey's ... Space Mickey, AK Mickey, Chef Mickey ... not to mention getting Chip and Dale, and Pluto several times.

HTH, Cheryl

Thanks for the ideas - I am just ready to start autograph books for the next trip. I plan on taking the stickers and putting the stickers in the book after the character have signed. I am going to look for a small binder so I can move pages around after the "signings". I will update if I find anything worth sharing.
