Auto train for tweens with lots of homework?

We're planning a trip for spring break 2012 and I know the kids will have tons of homework to complete before school re-opens. I'm thinking about the auto train instead of driving this trip and I'm hoping that it's a good way for the kids to be productive and get their work done.

Do they have fold out trays at your seat? If not, is there anyplace else where they can lay books out on a flat surface and do their work?

Thanks.

We have taken the Auto Train numerous times. We enjoy it. We have always used the trip to get some of my son's make up work done. They do dim the lights at around 11pm. You will still have access to a map light. Hope this helps.

If you have a roomliner or a bedroom then yes they do have a table. If you booked coach seats I am not sure but if I remember correctly there are outlets at the seats you can plug in a laptop (just no internet). However the club/snack car has tables you can sit and do work.

Coach seats have trays too, think airline trays, that fold down from the seat in front of you.

Another place to do some work is the lounge. There are tables in there with more room. If there's any writing to do, good luck, the train movement makes it very difficult to write.;)
