Australians about to take over your theme parks!

I would also recommend taking some days off of NYC (11 days is A LOT!) and adding them to Orlando and LA.

Just had to chime in and say that my sister lives in Adelaide! It's a Small World! (pun intended!)She just came back to the states for a visit in April/May. We spent 2 days at Magic Kingdom and it was amazing. Just to really soak up the atmosphere and be together in a place we could only dream about when we were children was worth more than I can tell you. I realize you are traveling with friends, but Disney has hooked many a "non fan" and kept them coming back for life! You may someday have a family of your own... this is the type of place you will long to share with them.

My 2 cents, you can ride a rollercoaster at any regional Theme Park. While they offer an adrenaline rush, there is no lasting impact. My husband is a big tattooed/ pierced guy, not your typical sentimental type, but for a few days he was a kid again. There was an indescribable feeling of something we lack on an every day basis. Joy, wonder and lightheartedness. We would go again (even without kids!) no doubt.

I'm with all the others who say shorten the NYC trip. Do US/IOA and at the minimum MK.

Welcome to the DIS :)

You have lots of locations on your planned vacation so I am moving this over to the Community board.

For Walt Disney World specific theme park planning please post on the main board where I am sure plenty of DISers will want to help :)

I would agree and disagree with that statement. While it is true that you can ride A roller coaster at any regional Theme Park. For a roller coaster fan, even a mild Roller Coaster fan, there are some rides and some parks that "almost" hit the destination status of Disney and Universal.

One such ride and park is the one I left on my Itinerary: Six Flags Magic Mountain, and in particular X2. X2 is one of only three 4th dimension coasters of it's style in the world. The other two are in Japan and China. As a coaster, it is unlike any other coaster I've ridden. The individual seats rotate and do "back flips" during the ride. You can see an on-ride video of it here.

When I took my trip to California for the Disneyland Half Marathon. SFMM was one of the stop I wanted to make especially for this ride.

:) There isn't enough wildlife in your home country that's trying to kill you...you have to find something with "killer" in the name? ;)

Just the other day we had a Kangaroo jump in through the window of our lounge room. Took 3 of us to hold it down because it attacked my father. It can be scary sometimes living with wild animals around the place. Koalas jump on you from the tree tops when your walking the streets and they might seem cuddly and cute but they are ruthless animals...

A general idea - we used a "Go LA" card a few years back to get a lot of things in a wrapped up price. I'd check that for your trip to LA/Anaheim and also if the other cities have one that may make sense. I don't know for sure if they ship intl but worth checking out. We've also used in Miami - these offer deep discounts to do a number of things in the same day usually if that is your touring style. If not, still deep discounts - we did legoland, universal hollywood and the Warner Bros tour and saved a ton with it - then because we had it we added Sony tour and a bunch of hollywood blvd things that were totally free!

wow!!!! We will definetly look into getting that. That is an amazing offer! Thanks a lot for sharing that

You planning on hitting Canada's wonderland while in Toronto?
I would love to go the Wonderland but depends on the iteniary. I dont want to hog up all the time with theme parks although secretly if it was up to me the whole trip would be theme parks ha ha.

I think you just sold me on WDW. You are right in that it seems like a place that will always leave a lasting impression and who knows if I will ever be back. Plus your husband reminds me of myself, not a sentimental man but my inner child comes out with things like this lol.

Where abouts in Adelaide is your sister from? It is a small world and Adelaide is a small town where everyone seems to know everyone lol

She just moved from Unley to Brompton. Would love to get over there to visit one day myself, but I'd have to sell at least 2 out of my 3 kids to be able to afford that!
