Yes, I'm so excited for him!! A little crummy for him that he's in the same half of the draw as Federer though.

I think I want to see James Blake win this one. It's his turn! Unfortunately for him, he's in the same quarter as Nadal.

And I just read that this is Kim Clijsters last Aussie open and she's only 24! She's retiring at the end of this season to start a family with her soon to be husband.

I used to be excited for tennis way back when it was Connors and McEnroe but haven't watched it in years. It is a great sport. I do like Roddick.

You should get back into it, there really is a TON of great talent out there.
It feels weird knowing that Agassi will not be around this season though.

Looks like Roddick finally started playing decently in his match.... I came in during the 2nd set and wish I'd seen the 1st set tie-break - can't believe it went 20-18!
Did anyone else hear Cliff and Patrick McEnroe talking about Roddick after he kinda went off on the chair umpire? They essentially said he's well spoken and thoughtful in press conferences and in person (much of the time) but there's this other, arrogant side that's just not attractive..... Very usual to hear this kind of discussion about a top athlete.
for James Blake in singles, Bryan Brothers in doubles (they're fun to watch!). Don't know about the women yet, embarrassed to say I haven't heard of half of them

I knew Davenport wasn't playing in the tourney, but didn't know why. I just read last night that she's pregnant! Congrats to her!

I have to say I'd like to see Kim Clijsters take the title.

Won it in 4 sets.... came back from down 2 breaks in the 2nd set. The kid he played looked awesome in the first set and a half - think we'll be seeing more of him in the future...

I, too would like James Blake to win this year. I really, really like him, but miss his hair. I just heard today that Jimmy Connors' mother died and he won't be with Andy. I felt really bad because he was so close to him mother.

Wow, I can't believe that Sefarova took out Mauresmo so easily! Congrats to her.
I'm still wanting to see Kim Clijsters win this tourney. Would be nice for "Aussie Kim" to win her tourney in her last year in the sport.

Gonzalez played exceptionally well. He truly deserved to win that match. Blake played well, but let a few key moments slip from his grasp. For example, he had a triple break/set point in the first set on Gonzalez' serve and couldn't convert.
