I thought i would just put up my plans and see if anybody has any tips or ideas about tackling Disneyland and California for the first time.

First of all i will be visiting both parks for 3 days from Nov. 20-23 and the 3 people i am going with are over 20. One member is on a GF diet.

Im hoping that the Christmas decorations will be up although i assume this would mean that the park would be quite full?

My first tip would be to wear comfortable shoes, the park is massive and theres alot of ground to cover.
Get to the parks early - we had a 9day pass & still didnt see everything.

Your dates are mid-week; and I think Thanksgiving is the week after. So, it could be that the parks are not as busy.

With one member being GF, you might want to check out where you can get appropriate food for that person. That way, you're prepared as to where to eat and not stress out at having to find places at the last minute.

You haven't mentioned how long you plan to be in California or where else you're planning on visiting aside from Disneyland. Are there other places you're visiting and if you're staying at Anaheim for the duration, you might want to consider getting more than 3 day park tickets so that you can pop in and out should you wish.

Well, definitely use at least a couple days to branch out to see what else Southern California has to offer. There's lots to do in LA, and San Diego is only an hour and a half, or 2 hours away (depends on traffic). There's Hollywood, the San Diego Zoo, other theme parks, etc. Maybe hit the beach one day if the weather's nice.

Overall, you could expect weather to be very nice, with temperatures in the low 70s on average. But, be prepared for both sunny hot days, and cooler and rainy weather. November is a transitional month. So while temperatures in the 80s or even 90s can be common, you could also have rather cool and rainy weather. Be prepared for both.

And I'm not sure if Christmas decor will be up yet or not. But I kind of suspect that they will be. Crowds should be (relatively) light though in the weeks before Thanksgiving.
