Aulani room location

We have enough points for either a pool view or ocean view. Looking at the map it appears to be set back from the beach/ocean quite a bit so I am wondering if an ocean view is worth it? Seems like the pool views are very nice. Opinions?

Also, what characters can be seen at Aulani, when and where?

I suggest you check out some of the photos in the Aulani Villas & Views thread. They might give you a feel for the types of views available from Aulani's Ocean View villas compared to the Pool View villas. Personally, I liked having a villa that overlooked Aulani's Waikolohe Valley, which has the main pool and lazy river.

When we were at Aulani in September, we saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Chip and Dale. Stitch is suppose to be there, too, but we never saw him. There are several scheduled character meet & greets during the day, plus characters appear at several of the events around the resort. Plus, each day they have a pool party with Mickey & friends. The Daily Iwa shows the times for these events.

We had a pool view and island view (2 different rooms) and I love the pool view for location. It was only 3 rooms off the lobby so close to all the amenities.

We saw
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Stitch. They usually appear multiple times a day near the Makahiki buffet patio and also will do some pictures at the daily pool party.
