Aulani reservation deposit

If I book a room at Aulani (just as a regular guest - not a DVC member) for a reservation several months from now...
1) how much will the deposit be? (I assume a percentage of the total cost)
2) do I have to pay the rest of the reservation ahead of time? Or is it like a "normal" hotel where you don't actually pay the full amount until you check out?

We tried to find the info on the Aulani site, and started reservation procedure, but stopped at cc payment. It was not clear about the deposit or payment terms. I suggest you call the reservation center tel714)520-7001and ask the question. We would appreciate knowing what you find out!

We are also not DVC members and in our three Aulani stays they took a deposit for the first day and then charged our room account for the room on the following days. Our experience has been, like at other Disney resorts, they hold your room only reservation with a one nights stay charge and the reservation can be cancelled up to five days before scheduled arrival. Policies may change though, so it is a good idea to get confirmation when you book.
