I’m looking for anyone who has bought an Aulani resale contract and used First American Hawaii as the title company to see how much you were allowed to put down as a deposit on your credit card?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I want to say our deposit was 2,000? I did not ask them but should have asked what the maximum I was allowed to put down then. When I bought my next resale contract for AKV we put down 5,000.

Thanks! They just got back back to me saying $2000 was the max, so that’s in-line with your experience!

I am in starting a contract with them right now,
May I ask how you got the credit card info to them? Do they have a website where you can pay?

Thanks.

I haven’t sent it over yet, but the brokerage sent a form to fill out my credit card info with instructions to email it to First American.

Yep, $2000 has been the max for my two Aulani contracts purchased this year. And just a heads up…they are slooooow…🐢🐌

My deposit was also $2,000 both times I've gone through First American. Both times, the broker sent me a form to complete and return via Secure E-Sign.

Thanks. I will be on the lookout for a form. When I signed the offer, the broker included a title co. info page saying I had to pay within 3 days, but the title company doesn't want my money until the escrow account is setup. I am not going to make the deadline through no fault of my own.

Thank you! The secure E-Sign would be preferable—mine was just a regular PDF to fill out and email.

I tried to call and ask a question to First American and they also weren’t able/didn’t want to answer or help me because the escrow account wasn’t set up yet.

Thank you! I will set my closing expectations low haha
Yes - I am at 87 days and waiting from when I first submitted an offer. My deed recorded 9/19/23 and waiting for my points to show up. I did not use First American for my title but it seems, Aulani contracts tend to be the longest wait! My other 2 resale contracts from close to points loaded was quick in comparison.

I finally got a secure link tonight from First American and was able to pay the deposit via credit card.

I am still waiting for them to send me a link to make my deposit on my most recent purchase. Offer accepted on Monday, contract went to ROFR yesterday morning. Got some paperwork from FirstAm this morning, but still no deposit link.

Max $2500 on credit card now with First American
Anyone closed with First American Auani contract lately? Did the closing costs go up? They are now on cash purchase: $706 (includes tax) and title policy $300 plus $42 to record deed plus the small transfer tax on total cost paid. Is this different than what some of you have paid in the past?

Thank you

I closed just under a year ago and that was what we paid too, in addition we paid $81 for fedexing stuff to them (I'm Canadian) and $75 for remote notary.

I don't remember what the limit was, but our deposit was about $700 (only 75 point contract) and we put the whole deposit on a credit card.
